Exploring Life & Business with Kimberly Hardiman of Sassy Chic Designs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Hardiman.

Hi Kimberly, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
In 2016-17 I was going through a transition, being a stay-at-home Mom I became Frustrated with the thought of only being a mother. Although it is a beautiful thing and one of the most rewarding roles a mother could have, I just knew I was meant for more. I needed to Find Kim, I cried and had the instant thought “MAKE JEWELRY”. It was so uncommon for me to think of Jewelry, so much that it scared me. Lol

I felt like I was being directed to Make jewelry so I started. As I started creating, I realized it was therapeutic and Fun. I was shocked when others started commenting on my post with Inquiry. It Excited me too! I started having sparks of Vision, Vision as it related to how far this Hobby could go. I soon started looking for ways to Grow and learn. I was welcomed to join an Entrepreneur Cohort with a company name Corn Bread Hustle. There was a group of us learning about what it meant to be an entrepreneur. skills we needed to obtain in order to keep going, along with ways on how to chang your mindset. At the end of the program, they had a pitch contest, so we all had to prepare. They flew me to Texas; I pitched my Business in front of Investors and a full room of others. Out of the 6 or 7 other business, I WON!!! Again, I was Shocked! I won money and a year of free business services. I flew home feeling like I was literally on cloud 9.

Since then, I have been working on Growing and finding a better system to execute all my goals. I Have Also launched a new Line Called the “I AM” Collection, it’s a Collection to Inspire women on a daily basis through inspirational affirmation Jewelry.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the struggles I experienced was the Pandemic, As I know it was for majority of the population. The pandemic knocked me off my square, I was no longer inspired, and I was Fearful. The Uncertainty worried me So I focused on finding Permanent employment. Once I found a Job I stayed for almost 2 years (recently left in December) while there, I was not focusing on my business the way I really wanted to. About 20% of my time was being Dedicated. I have now made my business my full time focus. Taking a chance on myself this time.
