Exploring Life & Business with Kimber Zatkovich of Custom Ideation

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kimber Zatkovich.

Hi Kimber, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I have always been a self-motivated individual with big ideas and strong beliefs that anything is possible if I put my mind to it. My father, an architect who operated his firm for 17 years, was a huge influence on me. I watched how hard he worked, and the challenges he faced, and I witnessed his joy in doing what he loved. I know this inspired me to become an entrepreneur.

As my career path has traversed a wide array of roles, I amassed skills, knowledge, and wisdom in different areas of business. My ease with people and ability to identify their needs, combined with my MBA education and experience across sales, marketing, operations, and human resources, are all foundational to my company.

For years, starting my own company seemed elusive. While working for large firms, I enjoyed elements of independence and responsibility akin to running my own business, so when the right time and circumstances presented themselves, I embraced the entrepreneurial journey.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say that running a business by nature means that there will always be a few bumps in the road. Being nimble and able to change direction if needed strategically makes it easier to overcome obstacles and challenges as they arise… and arise they will.

As you know, we’re big fans of Custom Ideation. What can you tell our readers who might not be as familiar with the brand?

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?

Luck always plays a role in life and work, and I’ve had my share of both. It has taken a lot of hard work to get this far, but I feel lucky to be able to do what I love. Hopefully, with continued fortitude and as much good luck as comes our way, we will keep going and growing!
