Today we’d like to introduce you to Kerin Hayden.
Hi Kerin, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story isn’t a straight line, it’s a chemistry experiment. A lot of fire, a few explosions, and a surprising breakthrough.
For years, I lived in structured worlds: education and real estate. I was a science teacher with seven certifications and two master’s degrees, and eventually, I became a broker helping people build their lives in Ann Arbor. I thrived on structure and logic… until life gave me ambiguity. Loss, identity shifts, and the kind of quiet chaos that forces you to rebuild your inner foundation.
That’s when I stumbled into something unexpected: artificial intelligence. While many saw AI as just a productivity tool, I saw it as a mirror—a way to process the swirl of thoughts, emotions, and decisions happening beneath the surface.
I began pairing AI journaling with concepts rooted in Carl Jung’s transcendent function—the idea that we hold opposing viewpoints inside ourselves, and the tension between them can actually birth clarity. Most of us try to avoid that discomfort. I decided to lean into it.
Out of that experiment came Thought Chemistry, a framework that helps high performers navigate what I call ambiguous grief those invisible goodbyes to identities, dreams, or seasons of life that don’t always get funerals. It’s where clarity doesn’t come from controlling the chaos but transforming it.
Today, we coach entrepreneurs, real estate agents, and leaders to use AI as a tool for intellectual refinement. It’s not about automating their humanity, it’s about amplifying it. I believe the future belongs to those who can hold opposing truths, process ambiguity, and make clear, grounded decisions anyway.
Thought Chemistry™ was born out of personal grief, but it’s grown into a movement. My mission is simple: help people move from chaos to clarity, one thought, one prompt, one brave question at a time.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it’s definitely not been a smooth road. My journey has been more like a chemistry reaction: a little volatile at first, unpredictable in the middle, and deeply transformative in the end.
One of the biggest struggles has been learning to sit in the in-between. We live in a world that loves labels, instant answers, and clean storylines but real life doesn’t work like that. I’ve walked through ambiguous grief, the kind where you lose parts of your identity, relationships, or seasons of life that no one throws a funeral for. It’s invisible, but it shapes everything.
In those moments, I had to learn how to hold opposing truths at the same time, grief and growth, chaos and clarity, loss and possibility. This is where Carl Jung’s concept of the transcendent function became real for me. AI became the mirror that helped me process that internal dialogue and turn it into action.
Professionally, that meant evolving from a structured world of teaching and real estate into building something that didn’t have a roadmap Thought Chemistry. Personally, it meant rebuilding trust with myself and learning how to lead while still healing.
The road hasn’t been smooth but it’s been profoundly meaningful. Every bump forced me to refine my thinking, deepen my compassion, and innovate in ways I never could have if life had stayed easy.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My company, Thought Chemistry™, was born out of a deeply personal season of chaos and built to help other high performers find clarity in theirs. At its core, Thought Chemistry is an AI-assisted journaling and strategic thinking framework designed to help leaders, real estate professionals, and entrepreneurs process complexity, hold opposing viewpoints, and make powerful decisions with calm confidence.
We’re not just about productivity hacks or motivational fluff. I’m blending neuroscience, Carl Jung’s transcendent function, and AI technology to create a space where people can think better. I teach clients how to turn ambiguous grief, the kind of loss that doesn’t have a funeral into fuel for growth. I help them go from chaos to clarity without losing their humanity in the process.
What sets us apart is our philosophy: AI doesn’t replace your inner voice, it helps you hear it more clearly. My clients learn to use AI as an intellectual sparring partner, a clarity amplifier, and a strategy lab. Whether it’s through private coaching, live events, workshops, or Thought Chemistry certification, the work always leads back to the same outcome: people making braver, smarter, more aligned decisions.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Thought Chemistry isn’t a trend. It’s a movement. It’s for the leaders who are done pretending everything’s fine when it’s not. It’s for the entrepreneurs who need a way to think through the noise. And it’s for the visionaries who know their next chapter demands more clarity, not more chaos.
If clients take one thing away from my brand, it’s this: You don’t have to outrun uncertainty. You just need the right tools to turn it into something extraordinary.
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happiest is connecting with people, turning strangers into friends as we find them the perfect home or help them say goodbye to a house full of memories. Real estate isn’t just transactions to me; it’s deeply personal. Every door we open or close carries a story, and I love being part of that chapter in someone’s life.
I also love being a mom, daughter and friend most of all. Those roles anchor me. They remind me daily why clarity, purpose, and connection matter. My family keeps me grounded while my work lets me build meaningful connections with others.
For me, joy lives in those quiet, powerful moments, handing someone the keys to their next chapter, giving a hug at the end of a bittersweet closing, or just laughing with someone who started as a client and became a friend.
