Hi Katrina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Katrina Belin, I am the proud owner and CEO of Pink Diamond Beauty Mall and President of The Pink Print Women’s Network in Detroit, Michigan. However, life wasn’t always this blessed for me. My journey to success has been an extremely difficult one, which began at a very early age. At the age of 3 my mother was murdered. I then experienced the nightmare of every child and was officially declared Property of the State of Michigan by age 12.
As if being shuffled between family, group homes and foster care agencies wasn’t stressful enough, By age 17 I found myself pregnant in my last year of high school and officially out on my own…
I was told that, “according to my circumstances and statistics, there was a 5-10% chance I would survive on my own with no parents, no siblings, no loved ones and no support”. And to be transparent, surviving the streets of Detroit as a young black female with no navigation was extremely challenging…. BUT GOD!!!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a single parent without parents, I was forced to navigate life’s ups & and downs alone. The road to success definitely has not been easy for me. Lack of resources, lack of support & lack of education. But I was determined! Determined to be seen, determined to be heard, and determined to be ME! But while navigating through this journey I stumbled upon a path. A path that led me straight to true happiness, wholeness & success!!! This path was the path of healing & self-care.

Katrina Belin is the Owner & CEO of Pink Diamond Beauty Mall LLC. Michigan’s first Beauty Mall is over 9000 sqft and located at 17350 Livernois in Detroit, MI. Here, they provide luxury, professional, health and beauty services to the metro-Detroit area. When human beings experience trauma or severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. Our greatest passion is bringing joy and healing in helping clients to find healthy perceptions of themselves that they may know themselves as peaceful, complete, and whole. In 2017, I began creating a safe haven for women where they could relax, regroup, and rejuvenate away from the world. Our mission at Pink Diamond Beauty Mall is to provide complete personalized services for both the inner and outer beauty of the whole woman. We strive to reach beyond the roots (of hair) and into the refinement and healing of one’s core self. We believe people go to salons to look a certain way. People come to Pink Diamond to feel a certain way.
What are your plans for the future?
With the constant rise of stress, anxiety and mental health, the increased need of education surrounding “ Healing & Self Care “ has become my top priority. Therefore, I plan to expand Pink Diamond Beauty Mall into other cities across the world. I believe that it’s extremely important to NOT only focus on one’s outer appearance, but to also nuture the inner equally. Which is what we here at Pink Diamond Beauty Mall aim to provide.
