Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathey Batey.
Hi Kathey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I went through a divorce 23 years ago that I did not want. Years later I began getting trained to facilitate groups for DivorceCare.
10 years ago, I became a domestic mediator to further help my clients as a divorce coach.
6 years ago, I developed my own program Divorce Support Anonymous. Including all materials, I developed.
I never wanted to see anyone feel as alone as I did going through divorce. It was a rawness I have never known.
5 years ago, my book series Suddenly Single was published, 3 books to get you through divorce and build your life after divorce.
Today I continue holding support groups, divorce coach individuals, and hold mediations.
I have free information to help people prepare for seeing their attorney for the first time and to prepare for mediation.
Last year I held a seminar How Not To Screw Up Your Kids Going Through Divorce where I held interviews with child experts.
I lead a single mom’s group and lead a summer camp for single moms.
I will continue this work as long as I am able. It is vitally important to assist people and give them hope as they go through the trauma of divorce.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Struggles? Ever since covid my groups have been smaller, and it is not because the need is any smaller. I started online groups as well that run 12 weeks. My in-person groups are 10 weeks.
Marketing has been a struggle; it is not my strong suit.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I do cooperate training on conflict communication.
My divorce work is what I am the most proud of, because I see the results in 10 weeks that is amazing. From raw and confused to confident and ready to take on the single life.
My education is in counseling.
What sets me apart from others is my empathy and my expertise to direct people on what should ask their attorney and save them literally thousands of dollars.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I love to be creative; I still write speeches and presentations that move my audiences. One-woman show – The Decades of Our Lives By The Lipstick That We Wore
