Exploring Life & Business with Jennifer Fishkind of Princess Pinky Girl

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Fishkind.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I actually started Princess Pinky Girl kind of by accident! Back in 2013, I was just a busy working mom looking for an easier way to organize and share fun ideas I found online. Pinterest was still pretty new, and I loved it, so I started saving recipes, crafts, and party ideas that I wanted to try. Before long, people started following my boards, and I realized there was a real community out there that loved the same things I did.

That’s when I decided to create a website as a place to share my own ideas. What began as a fun little hobby quickly grew into something much bigger. Over time, I focused more on easy, family-friendly recipes that anyone could make without stress or fancy ingredients. Now, more than a decade later, Princess Pinky Girl has grown into a space that reaches millions of readers every month. It’s been an incredible journey from a passion project to a full-time business, and I still can’t believe this is what I get to do every day.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road! This industry is exciting, but it’s also incredibly challenging because there’s no real guidebook for how to do what we do. When I started, there wasn’t a clear roadmap for turning a blog into a business – we were all figuring it out as we went.

What worked yesterday probably won’t work today, and what’s working today might not work tomorrow. The world of online content moves fast, and technology changes constantly. Between social media algorithms, SEO updates, and new platforms popping up every five minutes, it sometimes feels like trying to hit a moving target.

But I’ve learned to adapt and grow with the changes instead of fighting them. Every challenge has pushed me to get more creative, more strategic, and more open to trying new things. It’s not always easy, but it keeps things interesting, and I love that there’s always something new to learn.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Princess Pinky Girl is all about making life a little easier and a lot more delicious. I share simple, family-friendly recipes that anyone can make, no matter their cooking experience. My readers love that everything on my site is approachable, quick to pull together, and uses ingredients you probably already have at home. I like to call it “dump, bake, and serve” cooking because if it takes too many steps, I’m probably not making it either!

What really sets Princess Pinky Girl apart is how real it feels. Every recipe is tested and perfected, and I only share the ones that my family actually loves. Over the years, it’s become more than just a recipe site; it’s a community of busy people who want to put great food on the table without the stress.

Brand-wise, I’m proud that we’ve built trust with millions of readers who come back again and again because they know the recipes will work. Today, Princess Pinky Girl reaches over 6 million followers across social media and welcomes more than 1.5 million readers to the website each month. I want people to know that it’s not about perfection, it’s about joy, connection, and those everyday moments that happen around the table.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The online food space has changed so much already, and I think it’s only going to keep evolving. Over the next 5 to 10 years, I see even more focus on short-form video, personalization, and community. People want real connections and recipes that feel approachable, not just perfectly staged photos.

Technology will keep driving change too. AI, search updates, and social media algorithms are reshaping how people find and share recipes. What used to be all about written blogs is now a mix of video, storytelling, and social engagement.

For creators like me, the key is staying flexible and ready to adapt. The bloggers who succeed long-term will be the ones who stay authentic while finding new ways to connect with their audience wherever they are, whether that’s through a quick video, a helpful email, or a tried-and-true recipe post that people trust.
