Exploring Life & Business with Christopher Fair of Christopher Fair, DC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Fair.

Hi Christopher, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My Story – Dr. Christopher Fair, D.C.

My journey into chiropractic care started long before I ever stepped into a classroom. Growing up, I watched my father work as a Doctor of Chiropractic, and I saw firsthand the difference he made in people’s lives. Seeing patients come in hurting and leave feeling better — often smiling and moving freely again — left a lasting impression on me. That’s really where the conviction took root: the body has an incredible ability to heal itself when it’s given the right care and support.

After completing my chiropractic training, I returned to my childhood home of Boyne City to open my own practice in 1986. From the very beginning, my goal was simple — to help people not just get out of pain, but live healthier, fuller lives. Over the years, I’ve been blessed to serve countless patients, each with their own unique story. The most rewarding part of my work is watching those transformations — seeing someone who’s been struggling finally regain their health, their movement, and their joy.

Today, my practice is still built on the same foundation my father modeled: relationships, trust, and education. I believe chiropractic care isn’t just about the spine; it’s about empowering people to move better, feel better, and live the life they’re meant to live.

Nearly four decades later, I still wake up every day grateful to do what I love — helping people heal naturally and continue living active, vibrant lives right here in the community where it all began.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’d love to say it’s all been smooth sailing, but like any long career, there have been challenges along the way. The biggest one by far was a 10-year federal legal battle I fought with Medicare over my patients’ access to equitable chiropractic care. It wasn’t just about my practice — it was about standing up for the rights of patients to receive the care they deserve.

Those years were tough. There were moments of frustration and fatigue, but also moments of clarity about why I do what I do. That experience strengthened my resolve and reminded me that being a chiropractor isn’t just about helping individuals — it’s about advocating for the profession and for fair, patient-centered healthcare. Looking back, that struggle helped shape me both personally and professionally, and it deepened my commitment to serving my community with integrity and compassion.

As you know, we’re big fans of Christopher Fair, DC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At my practice, Christopher Fair, D.C., we focus on helping people live healthier, more active lives through natural chiropractic care. I’ve been serving the Boyne City community since 1986, and over the years I’ve seen how gentle, specific chiropractic adjustments can do more than relieve pain — they can restore movement, improve balance, and support overall wellness.

What really sets my practice apart is the personal attention and comprehensive care we provide. I take time to really listen to each patient’s story and tailor their care to meet their unique needs. Along with traditional chiropractic adjustments, we also utilize Cold Laser Therapy to support healing at the cellular level and Spinal Decompression Therapy to relieve pressure and improve spinal health. These technologies, combined with hands-on care, help our patients recover faster and live their best life.

I’m proud that my practice has built a reputation for trust, results, and genuine care. For nearly four decades, we’ve helped patients not only get out of pain but truly thrive — getting back to work, play, and the activities they love most.

At its core, my brand is about natural healing and lifelong wellness — empowering people to take charge of their health and live vibrant, active, pain-free lives.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
If I could share one piece of advice with someone just starting out, it would be this: stay true to your purpose and your patients — the rest will follow. When you’re new, it’s easy to get caught up in the business side of things, or to compare yourself to others. But at the end of the day, success in chiropractic — or any profession — comes from caring deeply, doing what’s right, and staying consistent.

Looking back, I wish I had realized sooner that growth takes time, and that challenges are part of the process. Every obstacle you face — whether it’s financial pressure, long hours, or even doubt — can actually shape you into a stronger, more compassionate doctor.

My other piece of advice is to never stop learning. The science and art of chiropractic care are always evolving, and staying curious keeps you fresh and inspired. When you combine knowledge with genuine care for people, you’ll build something lasting — not just a practice, but a legacy of helping others live better lives.
