Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrin Harris

Hi Carrin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Blitz Proto started with two friends with the vision of creating a shop that filled a gap they had both experienced in the manufacturing industry. They wanted to provide quick quotes and fast turn around times. The shop started out in the basement of the President’s dad and moved to the current location in Farmington Hills once funding was secured. The original vision has evolved to provide custom design and engineering services and electronics as well as machining and 3D printing services to assist customers in bringing their prototypes to life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has been bumpy with the changes in the manufacturing industry and economic uncertainty. Finding regular customers and consistent income has been a big challenge.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
While we are a new business, we are shaping our services every day by learning from our customers. Some customers approach us because they don’t know exactly what we need and we are able to work with them to assist with the prototyping process. We have noticed trends in the industry that have inspired us to begin the research and development process to offer some custom products as well. We hope to begin making these products available next year.

Success is exceeding the customer’s expectation and inspiring repeat business.
