Today we’d like to introduce you to Breeann Stallings.
Hi Breeann, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Breeann Stallings, founder of Bree Dion Doula Services. I am a certified birth and postpartum doula serving families throughout the Metro Detroit area.
A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period. My role is to ensure that mothers especially Black and brown mothers feel informed, supported, and empowered every step of the way.
I specialize in supporting high-risk mothers in their pregnancy and births. I began this work because of my deep passion for helping mothers in the community, especially those who are under served and who face barriers to receiving compassionate and individualized care.
I meet families in the comfort of their own homes, where they feel safe, calm, and supported. Together, we prepare both body and mind for the arrival of their new baby through evidence based education, encouragement, and hands-on support, I help mothers make informed decisions and approach birth with confidence.
Community building is at the heart of my work. I believe every mother deserves to be heard, held, and respected. My goal is to provide nurturing care that honors each family’s unique journey and helps mothers feel empowered as they welcome their babies into the world.
I am a proud mother of 3 children (Bella, Brian, and Bethany).
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road as a doula is not always easy, but it is always worth every mother and child coming out healthy and alive. Mothers in underserved communities often face struggles that many others do not, such as lack of support, absent partners, no transportation, housing instability, and difficulty obtaining basic necessities for themselves and their babies.
As doulas, we are here to provide evidence based support, education, emotional support, and advocacy. We help connect mothers and families with resources and services that can assist them throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Our goal is to help mothers feel supported, empowered, safe, and cared for during one of the most important times in their lives.
We’ve been impressed with Bree Dion Doula Services llc, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a community doula and proud to serve my community. My mothers know that they are cared for like family. I strive to provide compassionate, reliable, and nonjudgmental support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Every mother deserves to feel seen, heard, supported, and empowered during her journey into motherhood. This is my life work and Ill be doing it until I turn 90!
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I surround myself with like-minded doulas who are passionate about serving mothers and families in our community. My best friend, Keva Williams of The Nurtured Beginnings, is also a dedicated doula, and together we work alongside other doulas and medical professionals who truly have a heart to serve. I believe that having a strong community of support allows us to better advocate for mothers, provide resources, and ensure families feel cared for every step of the way.
