Exploring Life & Business with Brandon Still of The Integrated Life Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Still.

Hi Brandon, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Over the course of the past several years, we have built our business around supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners – and providing resources for those who are aspiring to be entrepreneurs and small business owners. Most recently we decided to bring all of our services under a new “umbrella” called The Integrated Life Company.

Designed to provide support and resources ranging from digital content to in-person groups and retreats, Integrated Life is about inspiring people to build a better life by harnessing their work life better. The mission statement, a better way of work for a better way of life, reflects our belief that the entrepreneurial journey can serve to enhance life not drain it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We have introduced the brand slowly and “organically” through in-person events and word of mouth. We have also started working on content for a new YouTube channel and the feedback has been amazing. The more we have explained our purpose and vision, the more people have come forward saying how much they want and need a more organized community around them.

The biggest bump in the road is finding ways to succinctly explain our purpose, but as we connect with more people and tell our story the path forward seems to slowly be revealing itself for us.

A great example of this was the filming of our very first video – without prior examples to rely on it was difficult to fully explain the vision. However, a great group of business owners joined us and you could see the vision click and the excitement grow.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Integrated Life Company?
The journey to the creation of The Integrated Life Company started with the establishment of a small consulting company in 2017. Focused on working with pre-revenue and early-stage startups, Eskywell Consulting grew and serviced a wide variety of local businesses. A year and a half later Main Street Coworking was born to provide physical space to those same business owners. As both businesses grew, an incredible community of people came together providing each other with support, networking, and resources. This community helped lift each other up, provided a helpful ear for ideas as well as struggles, and ultimately helped lead members of the community to more success.

We struggled for some time to figure out how we could harness this community to serve an even larger group of people and make a greater impact on the entrepreneurial ecosystem around us. Slowly, the idea of bringing together aspects from each of the businesses and combining it with the insights of great people led to The Integrated Life Company.

We now offer entrepreneurs and business owners a growing list of resources including masterminds, coaching, personal branding, coworking memberships, exclusive digital content from business leaders, networking groups, and we are happy to be launching our first in-person business retreat this summer to connect entrepreneurs with experts and peers who can help them grow.

What matters most to you?
One of the things I find so frustrating is that there are highly visible “experts” out there harnessing the power of social media to tell people how to grow their businesses. This has led to the promotion of the idea that in order to launch a successful business the rest of your life must take a back seat. Some people call it “hustle culture”, I call it BS.

There are certain sacrifices that need to be made, however, I truly believe that starting your own business should be rewarding to your personal life and that there are so many tools available to entrepreneurs to systematically build a business that suites their unique circumstances that no one should feel that launching a business is impossible for them.

It matters to me that people have access to a different points of view. It matters to me that they hear that sometimes it’s ok to put the business second (or third or fourth) without feeling guilty.

It’s really easy for someone online to say “you didn’t succeed because you didn’t put enough time in – you should have been working on the business instead of going to your kid’s play”, etc. What is harder to do is to take the time to get to know someone, get to know their circumstances and real goals, and then build business systems around that. But that’s what we want to create with The Integrated Life Company – support for entrepreneurs and business owners that allows them to build a better business that suits their life.
