Exploring Life & Business with Benjamin Morgan of Jurroco Photography/Visuals

Today we’d like to introduce you to Benjamin Morgan.

Hi Benjamin, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
As a young kid, I enjoyed being outdoors, finding my way into keeping myself entertained as usual teenager would. At the age of 13, I taught myself parkour and recorded my team & I to post my videos on my YouTube Channel. For the last 12 years, currently 25yrs old, I continued to edit my videos, upgrade from equipment from my old iPods/iPhones back in the day to now my Sony A6600 camera. Along the way, I bought a drone and fell in love with filming/videography. I learned self-investment is a great investment when you handle it right or get the right things. Taking photos came along the way through projects/graduation/and wedding events. I love more recording more so taking photos but with both, I’m able to capture the visuals I see in my head, and it amazes me to be able to capture moments and make it, however, you want it to. It’s always the end product I enjoy to see but can be a hassle editing everything. Through ups & downs, late nights editing or even all day, to walking miles and recording for hours just to make a 2 min video, it became a passion of mine. I learned to never be afraid to ask or go out and network. You’ll never know what opportunities may present itself now, or in the future. I worked over the years to get myself where I am now, I enjoy working and have a strong work ethic. My son is one of my biggest motivations, have an amazing supportive girlfriend, and to have this as a career photography/filmmaking in my future. Travel the world & capture life all around.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There’s never going to be an easy path when it comes to your passion or career, but I was always told it’s not called “work” if you enjoy doing it. Struggles mainly consist of traveling, financials, or getting booking/projects. Also getting rid of old equipment to upgrade to a newer one. Mentally being able to work on hours to finish editing or making a video. Some days can be 2hrs or some 12hrs.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Jurroco Photography/Visuals?
I do both sides of camera life, which is photography & videography. I edit my own videos & pictures. I mainly specialize in videography cause I have more passion, and with visuals I’m able to capture exactly what I want from cinematic shots, in/out focus shots/ and my environment. Everyone who’s in this field of work has their own trademark or touch, I want to be known for my videos/photos that it’s my kind of work, or someone can tell it’s my edits without my signature being present. I try to go above & beyond to get certain shots or videos to add more of a touch of my own creativity. I most proud of my videos I make cause I’m only getting better the more I practice. I have a Facebook page (Jurroco Photography/visuals) for bookings and my Instagram (Jurroco_photography) I post my content on both sites. I do any kind of shoots from events, senior/graduations, birthdays, weddings, commercials, small business, or modeling, etc. I’m open to any kind of ideas and always up for an adventure. I enjoy new challenges and new bookings ideas.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I’m very ambitious & determination runs heavy with me. Being a leader & teacher is essential for those around you. I like to get things done, I have a high work ethics, and motivated to finish the things I started I enjoy spending my hours on my projects. Improving on your equipment is what gives you the best content to put out to show who you are.
