Exploring Life & Business with Ben Case of Big Brother Hunting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben Case.

Hi Ben, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve loved hunting as long as I can remember. My grandfather, father and brother who is 14 years older than me would always hunt together in the thumb of Michigan. Before I could even hunt I would join them and often bring along an old vhs cassette camcorder to video them with. Eventually I began hunting with them. One of my favorite things to do was bring a friend who had never hunted before and show them the ropes. Fast forward to 2020 and I decided to start a hunting YouTube channel, Big Brother Hunting. The channel follows the hunting adventures of my brother and myself along with his sons, other family members as well as friends that we introduce to the world of hunting. My inspiration for the name of the channel was my big brother who has been my main hunting partner and role model. I love helping others who didn’t have that big brother to teach them like I did! The channel content is a mix of family friendly entertainment and outdoor education. One of my visions is to eventually have a hunting camp in Michigan, but we’ll see what God has in store!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting out had several obstacles. I had just lost my main source of income due to the covid-19 pandemic. On one hand the shutdown inspired me to start the channel, but once things went back to normal I was having to do more to provide for my wife and I which limited the time I could spend on the channel, especially since it wasn’t bringing in any income. The first few years of the channel we were building our family and I was building a business while also watching the kids at times since my wife was still working full time as well. All of this limited how much time and effort I put into Big Brother Hunting, but I did what I could. This year God has blessed us greatly and a lot of opportunities have come my way and I will finally be able to put the time and effort into the channel that I’ve been hoping to. I’m excited to see what Big Brother Hunting will become!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The business side of Big Brother Hunting is the monetizing of social platforms, and promoting products through affiliate marketing. Content creation through videoing, editing, and posting on a regular basis are the skills I had to develop to grow the brand. I will continue honing these skills and increasing the quality and frequency of content over time. I have developed each of the skills on my own, and at this point I wear all of the hats. I have considered hiring an editor or videographer, but I also enjoy every part of the process. If the brand continues to grow however, I may need some help; which is a good problem to have I suppose. I don’t sell any products at this time, but simply following my channel is a huge help, and I appreciate every one of my supporters.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Trust God, be patient, and stay consistent.
