With her years of experience in the mortgage industry, today, she’s a loan officer and mortgage partner at Shoreline Mortgage of Troy, Michigan.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being in the mortgage industry which is male-dominated industry there were definitely plenty of obstacles I’ve faced along the way. I started my career in mortgages in corporate space where I learned so much from my fellow colleagues however most of my coworkers were the complete opposite of me. Being a woman and a mortgage loan officer is very rare, so sometimes it was a little tough gaining the respect or relating to my colleagues. After some time, I gain my confidence and knowledge for the overall mortgage process I was able to relate to and gain the respect I was looking for.

Being in our industry its very tough because the deals we close affect people lively hood and their lives in general. Our clients are either purchasing a home for their family or refinancing their mortgage to put themselves in a better position, and with that comes stress because, of course, you want to always create a great client experience and hit the goal of closing. When I first entered the industry, it was hard for me to open up and be more personable when speaking to my clients, definitely comes so natural to me now. Being knowledgeable and relatable is essential to being success in this industry.

We’ve been impressed with Shoreline Mortgage, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a loan officer and mortgage partner at Shoreline Mortgage. We are mortgage brokers, so we differ from large banks and credit unions who are limited to their company specific products. As a mortgage broker, I’m able to shop around for my clients with the several lenders we partner with to customize the best loan program for my clients. As a mortgage loan officer, I pre-approve, purchase and refinance potential buyers or current homeowners for their mortgage. I specialize in having great communication and transparency with my clients throughout the entire mortgage process and getting their loan closed in 20 days or less. I feel what sets me apart from others in my industry is the communication I offer throughout the loan process and relatability. It’s not just another deal for me, I genuinely handle every client deal with care.

I’m licensed in Michigan, so I can help anyone in the Mitten purchase or refinance their home. If you’re looking to purchase or refinance (lower interest rate, shorten term, taking cash out of your mortgage), I’m here to assist.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Being knowledgeable and relatable is essential to being successful in this industry. Having faith and confidence in your business.
