Exploring Life & Business with Antionett Beck-Doss of Mobile Genetix DNA, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antionett Beck-Doss

Hi Antionett, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Mobile Genetix DNA was born out of my passion for accessibility and innovation in healthcare. After spending over a decade in the healthcare industry, I realized there was a gap in providing convenient, reliable DNA testing services to individuals who needed them most. I wanted to create a solution that could meet people where they are—literally.

We started with a simple idea: bring DNA testing directly to clients. Whether it’s for paternity, infidelity, immigration, or even genetic health testing, Mobile Genetix DNA offers personalized, discreet, and mobile services to simplify what can be a stressful process. Over time, we expanded our offerings to include cutting-edge options like BRCA and non-invasive prenatal testing, ensuring we stay at the forefront of genetic science.

Being the first mobile DNA testing lab in Michigan is a milestone I’m incredibly proud of. It’s not just about convenience; it’s about giving people the tools and answers they need to make life-changing decisions. Today, we continue to grow by building partnerships with organizations like Quest Diagnostics and educating communities on the importance of genetic health.

Our story is a testament to the power of innovation, accessibility, and a commitment to serving underserved communities. Mobile Genetix DNA is more than a business—it’s a movement to make genetic testing accessible for everyone.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey to building Mobile Genetix DNA has been anything but smooth, but every challenge has shaped the business into what it is today. One of the biggest hurdles was breaking into an industry dominated by traditional, brick-and-mortar labs. Convincing people to trust a mobile DNA testing service required extensive education and outreach. It was critical to emphasize the reliability, discretion, and accuracy of our services.

Another challenge was navigating the complexities of offering diverse testing options. From paternity and immigration to non-invasive prenatal testing, and BRCA testing each type of service comes with its own set of regulations, certifications, and logistical demands. Ensuring compliance while maintaining a seamless client experience has been a significant learning curve.

Building partnerships was another tough but rewarding process. Aligning with established organizations like DDC has been essential, but it took persistence and strategic planning to demonstrate the value of collaboration.

Finally, as a business owner serving underserved communities, I’ve often faced the challenge of balancing affordability with sustainability. Many clients come to us during vulnerable times, so I’ve worked hard to provide cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality.

Despite these obstacles, each struggle has been an opportunity for growth. These challenges have reinforced my commitment to making DNA testing accessible, convenient, and trustworthy for everyone. The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been worth every step.

We’ve been impressed with Mobile Genetix DNA, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Mobile Genetix DNA is a cutting-edge mobile DNA testing service that brings convenience, reliability, and discretion to individuals and families across Michigan. We specialize in a wide range of DNA testing, including paternity, infidelity, immigration, BRCA (breast cancer risk), animal DNA testing, and non-invasive prenatal testing.

What sets us apart is our mobility and personalized approach. As the first mobile DNA testing lab in Michigan, we eliminate the need for clients to visit traditional labs. Instead, we come directly to them, whether at their home, workplace, or any location they feel comfortable. This flexibility is especially important for clients facing sensitive situations or tight schedules.

We’re also proud to offer testing services that are not only accessible but also trustworthy. Our partnerships with leading labs, like DDC, ensure that every test meets the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how Mobile Genetix DNA has redefined what accessibility in healthcare looks like. We’ve built a brand that is empathetic, inclusive, and solutions-driven, empowering our clients to make informed decisions about their health, family, and future.

What I want readers to know is that Mobile Genetix DNA isn’t just about testing—it’s about peace of mind. We’re here to provide answers when they matter most, and we do so with compassion and professionalism. Mobile Genetix DNA is more than a service; it’s a partner in navigating some of life’s most important moments.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risk-taking has been a cornerstone of my journey as an entrepreneur and business owner. I believe that growth often requires stepping outside your comfort zone, even when the path ahead is uncertain. Taking calculated risks has been essential in building Mobile Genetix DNA and achieving my vision of creating accessible, mobile DNA testing services.

One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was leaving a secure career in healthcare after 11 years to start my own business. Walking away from stability to pursue a vision that hadn’t yet been tested was daunting. But I knew that the potential to revolutionize DNA testing and make a meaningful impact on underserved communities outweighed the fear of failure.

Another significant risk was being the first to introduce a MOBILE DNA testing Agency in Michigan. It meant challenging the traditional lab model and investing in a concept that required educating the public and building trust. The financial and operational risks were high, but I believed in the value of offering convenience, discretion, and accessibility to people navigating sensitive situations.

My approach to risk is strategic but rooted in faith and resilience. I weigh the potential outcomes, prepare as much as possible, and remind myself that failure is often a stepping stone to success. Each risk I’ve taken has taught me valuable lessons and reinforced my belief that taking bold steps is necessary to achieve extraordinary results.

To me, risk-taking isn’t about recklessness—it’s about believing in your vision enough to take a leap, even when the odds aren’t guaranteed. It’s what has allowed me to turn ideas into reality and make a difference in people’s lives.
