Hi Aneisha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Growing up on Detroit’s westside, I was always the tallest person in the room. I was so insecure about my height and how rapidly my body was developing to the point I would wear baggy clothes to hide all my womanly features. Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing because it made me the strong black woman I am today, I come from a family of ambition; drive; & determination. ILME was created to empower women to feel beautiful no matter what society deems acceptable. l believe beauty comes in all shapes, shades, and sizes! 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being a successful woman in business means having the courage to own who you are while applying your vision to positively impact the world. Being a black-woman-owned business and an entrepreneur, I have had a fairly smooth road throughout my three-year business journey. I do leave behind a painful memory that taught me there is no failure, you either win or you learn. During the winter of 2021 I had a lot of my inventory on hand, it was also a pandemic so not really thinking about it I would leave inventory in my truck because I didn’t want to carry it back and forth with me in and out the house every day. One day I had a lash delivery and when I got to my truck my back window was busted and my inventory was gone, EVERYTHING. From that day forward I’ve learned to never be so careless and big-headed, I know to always think RESPONSIBLY. I never want to feel that hurt and pain again from the hustle to the hard work, dedication, and money put into a business just to have it taken away. One of my favorite quotes is “GOD DONT BLESS NO MESS”, I feel it was a minor setback, for a major comeback!
