Today, we’d like to introduce you to Anaya Monet Bolden.

Hi Anaya, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started by brainstorming with my mom and cousin, and we came up with the idea of self-care for girls, making it fun and sweet. So, we looked into what we could make and turn into a business. I was only 14 at the time, but I knew my dream was to start my own business.

After six years of learning and growing, we have improved this business to sell more stuff and make unique smells. We have gone from selling just bath bombs to selling body butter, foaming sugar scrubs, body oils, and much more.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road. Since covid happened, we had to change things because we had been relying on pop-up events, so in the absence of those, we had to reopen our website.

Other things became a challenge, such as getting shipping materials and raw materials to keep sales going and products moving. Another challenge was getting people to engage with our social media posts and just getting feedback.

We’ve been impressed with Sugar Sweet Bath and Body Treats, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sugar Sweet Bath and Body Treats specializes in natural self-care products.

What sets us apart from other businesses is that we have gotten multiple reviews for how soft our products make our customer’s skin and how they smell, just like bath and body works. We’re also unique because we base our fragrances on dessert, gourmet, and fun fruity smells.

Our most popular fragrance is Strawberry Poundcake, but one of our unique fragrances is Chocolate Chip Cookie. I’m mostly proud of how far the brand has come and how much it has grown. It’s really been taking off lately! Our products will make you smell so good that you are going to want to come back again and again!
