Eugene Reid Jr. shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Eugene, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What I’m most proud of building—though it’s not something the world always sees—is myself.
It may sound introspective, but the truth is, I’ve spent years rebuilding, reshaping, and refining who I am. Not just as a creative or professional, but as a human being grounded in faith and purpose. Life doesn’t always follow the path we envision, and I’ve learned that sometimes what feels like rejection is actually divine protection.
Through every setback, I’ve been guided not just by ambition, but by alignment—becoming the version of myself that’s strong enough to carry the weight of my calling. The most valuable thing I’ve built is my self-worth. And that foundation silently powers everything I create and lead today.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Eugene Reid Jr.—a brand developer, web developer, certified Apple app developer, and creative visionary. I specialize in turning raw ideas into powerful brand experiences. Whether it’s a website, mobile app, visual identity, or SEO strategy—I build with intention, clarity, and impact.
At my core, I’m an artist. Every part of my life reflects creativity, from designing digital platforms to trading financial markets like the U.S.30 and NASDAQ. I see patterns others miss. That instinct has shaped my journey as a serial entrepreneur—once owning restaurants and thrift stores, now leading G2MDA (G2 Marketing Development Agency), where I help businesses and individuals bring their visions to life.
I don’t just create—I translate purpose into presence. I’m a builder, a creator, and a visionary. And while I’ve done a lot, I know God isn’t done with me yet.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
That question couldn’t be more aligned with the exact moment I’m living in right now. To be honest, this interview has become more than a conversation—it’s a mirror. It’s made me reflect deeply, not just on what I’ve built, but on what I’ve outgrown.
The part of me that I’m releasing is fear.
Fear of the unknown.
Fear of not being ready.
Fear of being judged.
Fear of failing.
Fear of lack.
All of it.
I’ve carried those fears for so long, and they served a purpose—for survival, for protection—but not anymore. Now, I’m choosing faith over fear. I’m placing it all in God’s hands and walking boldly in my purpose, trusting that His plan is greater than mine.
“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
From this point forward, I refuse to be shackled by fear. I know who walks with me.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
It’s a trick question—because I’ve had plenty of moments that felt like giving up. Times when life hit hard, when the weight was too heavy, and the road ahead felt unclear. But then I had to ask myself: what does giving up really mean?
Does it mean collapsing? Quitting? Disappearing?
I’ve never fully understood the concept—because I don’t know how to give up. It’s just not in me.
Yes, I’ve struggled. I’ve doubted. I’ve vented. I’ve broken down. But somehow—somehow—I kept going. That “somehow” is resilience. And that’s my superpower.
I don’t wear it loud all the time. But it’s in everything I’ve built, survived, and risen from. Giving up was never the option. And I believe that’s what sets me apart.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
At first glance, they’d probably say financial freedom. And yes—on the surface, that sounds like money. But my real circle, the one I’ve intentionally built and grown with, would tell you it’s deeper than that.
They’ve helped shift my perspective. Financial freedom isn’t just about money—it’s about purpose. It’s about surrendering to the path God has laid out for you, not the one your ego wants to chase. Because your work might earn you income, but it doesn’t define your identity. Your identity comes from who you are when you’re aligned with your gift.
This new circle—people I’ve known for a while but only recently began walking closely with—helped me see that when you truly work for God, when you walk in your divine assignment, He becomes your provider. And that’s the greatest financial freedom there is: trusting that your needs are met not by the grind, but by grace.
They wouldn’t be in my circle if they didn’t carry that light. And I’m grateful for their presence—because their influence reminds me daily to stay focused on purpose, not just profit.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
The process.
People may see the results, the wins, the milestones—but they won’t fully grasp the journey that shaped them. The layers of pain, protection, isolation, and divine intervention that got me here. The truth is, my process doesn’t look like the average person’s path. It was spiritual, strategic, and sometimes messy—but it was divinely designed.
God placed people in my life—some temporary, some lasting—not by accident, but by assignment. Those moments weren’t about “using” anyone; they were about alignment. Every interaction, every lesson, every connection played a role in keeping me covered and moving forward.
If there’s anything that might be misunderstood about my legacy, it’s that what looked like chaos was actually God’s protection. What looked like detours were divine reroutes. I had free will—but I also had favor. And even when it wasn’t comfortable, He was always there.
That’s the part people may not see. But it’s the part I’ll never forget.
