Daily Inspiration: Meet Trina Hannah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trina Hannah

Hi Trina, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
So, basically I was raised in a family of 10 (I am the youngest), and I was homeschooled. During my sophomore year of highschool which was 2020, COVID caused my online school to get shut down. Which then made my parents decide to put me into community college instead of continung highschool. Which then allowed me to graduate highschool with the credits of a junior in college. I was also very bored during the pandemic so I started creating Youtube videos, then TikTok’s, and so on. I was figuring out who I was a lot at this time and kinda wanted to share my story and allow others to feel confident in who they were and how they looked. I used to do gymnastics but get severely injured so I had to quit, but also during 2020 I started taking online dance classes in my basement. Which then led to me joining my universitys dance team. Now fast forward to today, I am a rising Junior in college at Siena Heights University with a major in Design and a minor in Psychology. I am on two sports teams; I am on the Esports team as a marketing manager, and on the dance team as a dancer and I will also help with social media. Something about me is I am always busy doing something. Whether that be an internship, a job, creating content, etc. Something I have loved from starting my platforms is the ability to connect with people while also figuring out who I am. I have had so much personal growth in the past 4 years and it feels great.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Oh it has not been a smooth road at all! Like I said I had gotten injured which made me quit the sport I loved, then I joined my schools dance team. But another fact about that is I signed with the dance team for my freshman year (fall of 2022), and ended up quitting two weeks in. I had gotten injured, had to quarantine, and was overwhelmed. Now, I have decided to give the team another try and have been training all summer for that. Also when it comes to content creating, I hit a point where I had very low confidence and stopped posting. That was my freshman year of college, I pretty much fell off planet earth. So it’s been really hard to recover from that mentally but also in terms of content creating, I am having to rebuild my whole platform again and find my audience.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
So my whole goal with my art (graphic design) or my content (Youtube videos, pictures, etc) is just to make people happy. That was actually what I wrote my college entrance essay on fun fact. But all I want to do is make people excited to live life and be happy with who they are. Something I am most proud of with that is the people who have come up to me and said how much I have helped to grow their confidence and help them feel not alone. Especially with now documenting my college journey, a lot of my audience is younger and now going into their first year which they then have come to me for advice. Something that sets me apart from others is my ability to relate. I truly do relate to everyone who follows me with anything from anxiety to finding their sense of style.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
YES 100%! One of the books is called “You are a Bada**” And it completely changed my mentality on working hard and being confident. As far as podcasts go, I love to listen to the Moments podcast by Lexi Hildago. It is always so inspiring and relatable.
