Today we’d like to introduce you to Trina Hannah.
Hi Trina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey as a content creator started when I was really young. I had always loved being creative and would literally pretend there was a camera in front of me, so eventually I decided to actually start making videos. I started my YouTube channel in 2020, creating vlogs and lifestyle content, and even though I was starting from a very small audience, I fell in love with the process of creating, editing, and connecting with people through my content.
As I grew, my content naturally evolved with me. I began incorporating my love for fashion, photography, dance, graphic design, and writing, and I started creating content that was not only fun and visually creative but also encouraging and relatable.
Today, I create lifestyle, fashion, dance, and creative content while continuing to grow my platform and work with brands. My biggest goal has always stayed pretty consistent from when I first started: I want my content to make someone’s day a little brighter, inspire them to be creative, and encourage them to be confident enough to chase whatever they’re passionate about.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been trying to balance content creation with everything else going on in my life. I’ve worked other jobs while building my platform, and being a full-time college student has meant learning how to create content around classes, assignments, work, and my personal life. Sometimes I’ve had to remind myself that I can’t do everything at once, and that growing as a creator takes patience.
Another difficult part has been dealing with online hate and criticism. Putting yourself online means opening yourself up to people who don’t always understand you or agree with what you’re doing, and learning not to let negative comments affect my confidence has been a huge part of my journey. There have definitely been moments where I’ve questioned myself, but those experiences have also taught me to focus on why I started creating in the first place. I’m proud that I’ve continued creating even when it hasn’t been easy, and I think those challenges have made me more resilient and confident in who I am as a person and content creator.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work as a content creator is really centered around storytelling, creativity, and making content that feels authentic to who I am. I create lifestyle, fashion, dance, beauty, and college-related content, and I love being able to bring different parts of my personality and interests into what I make. My background as a dancer has also had a huge influence on my content because I’ve always been drawn to movement, performance, music, and visual storytelling.
I think one of the things I’m most known for is creating content that feels fun, positive, and relatable while still being visually creative. I don’t want my content to feel overly staged or like I’m trying to be someone I’m not. I want people to feel like they’re getting to know the real person behind the content.
What I’m most proud of is how much I’ve grown while continuing to create alongside being a full-time college student and working other jobs. I’ve built my platform over time without having everything handed to me, and I’ve learned how to adapt, stay consistent, and keep creating even when things get difficult.
I think what sets me apart is the combination of my different creative interests. I’m not just a content creator—I’m a dancer, writer, photographer, and someone who genuinely loves creating. I’m constantly finding new ways to turn my interests and everyday experiences into something entertaining, encouraging, or inspiring for someone else.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
Growing up in Michigan, I think what I like most is how it feels like home. There’s a really unique sense of community here, and I love that you can experience a little bit of everything—from lakes and beautiful summers to small towns, bigger cities, and all four seasons. Growing up here has also given me a lot of inspiration for my content because there’s always something new to explore or a different way to experience places I’ve known my whole life.
What I like least is probably the winters. Michigan weather can be pretty unpredictable, and the long, cold months definitely make it harder to get outside and do things. I also sometimes wish there were more opportunities for creators and young people here compared to places like Los Angeles or New York. At the same time, I think growing up somewhere that isn’t necessarily the center of the creator world has pushed me to be more creative and find my own opportunities.
