Daily Inspiration: Meet Tricia Schlicht

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tricia Schlicht.

Hi Tricia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been driven by a passion for helping others unlock their full potential. Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate to learn from incredible leaders and mentors who shaped my perspective and fueled my mission—to transform the world, one person at a time.

The COVID-19 pandemic was a defining moment for me. In a time of uncertainty, I realized that the most powerful way I could give back was through personal guidance, helping individuals rediscover their strength and capability. That’s when I decided to take a risk and launch my own business, **Performance Accountability Management LLC**—because true, successful performance means managing your own accountability. It isn’t just about striving for excellence; it’s about owning your accountability along the way. And who doesn’t need support or guidance in doing that?

From coaching individuals on their health to empowering leaders to bring out the best in their teams, I’ve dedicated myself to fostering meaningful transformation. When we take responsibility for our own growth, we unlock doors we never thought possible. And that’s where real transformation happens!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life has tested me from an early age. My childhood wasn’t easy—my father was often on the road, and my mother was struggling with her own battles. When I was 13, my father suffered a stroke and passed away, leaving my mother drowning in grief and despair., I quickly realized that I was going to have to fend and be accountable for myself. While my peers were focused on typical childhood experiences, I was managing household responsibilities, taking care of the dishes, laundry, grocery shopping, and cooking meals. I wasn’t just growing up—I was stepping into the role of caretaker. But instead of feeling sorry for myself, I embraced the challenge and kept moving forward, which served me well on my life’s journey.

That resilience followed me into adulthood. In my 20s, I found myself leading a team of professionals—many of whom were decades older than me, from diverse backgrounds. The odds weren’t in my favor. The team had been the lowest-performing branch, and three supervisors before me had failed. I had a choice: give in to the challenges or dig deep and fight through them. I chose grit. To lead successfully, I knew I had to understand each team member—their strengths, their areas for growth, and what truly motivated them.

Los Angeles in the ’90s brought its own challenges—the Rodney King riots, the Malibu fires, the devastating Northridge earthquake. I faced fear head-on, navigating these moments while ensuring the well-being of my team. And when life called me back home years later, I answered. After years of separation, I returned for Thanksgiving only to realize my mother’s age and habits were catching up with her. Time was slipping away, and I knew I had to make a choice. My career goals shifted as I moved back to Michigan to be with her in her final chapter.

Through every challenge, one thing has remained true—I am responsible for managing my own accountability. Time and again, I hit a glass ceiling in corporate settings, until I faced a powerful truth: success isn’t just about skill or opportunity. It’s about mindset. It’s about strengthening your **mental gym**—because without it, the best strategies, roles, or opportunities won’t take you far.

That’s why I made it my mission to coach others—to help individuals refine their mindset and skill set so they, too, can step into their full potential. Transformation starts within. And when we own our accountability, we don’t just break through obstacles—we become the force that helps others do the same.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Throughout my career, I’ve held many roles—some came with prestigious titles, others didn’t. But what truly mattered was the impact I made. I’ve led million-dollar projects as a project manager, recruited thousands of individuals and watched more than a dozen careers soar, and guided executives in breaking through the barriers holding them back. I’ve helped groups evolve into high-performance work teams and introduced the transformative concept of **Leading with Love**—because leadership isn’t just about technical skill; it’s about heart too.

Many individuals step into leadership roles because they excel in technical abilities. Yet, far too often, they lack the **self-awareness and soft skills** needed to create truly **empowering environments**. Through my experiences with different organizations and certifications, I’ve documented invaluable lessons from leaders at every stage of their journey—seeing not only their successes but the realities of their leadership in the end.

What I walked away with was more than just knowledge—I built a **toolbox** filled with case studies, checklists of what to do (and what not to do), and, most importantly, a **burning desire to create transformation**. That’s why I took the leap—to forge partnerships with those bold enough to challenge their **inner roommate** and strengthen their **mental gym**. Because achieving **optimal performance** isn’t just about mastering technical capabilities; it’s about building a **breakthrough culture**—one that **inspires**, embraces **risk**, and **finds joy in the journey** while having the confidence to **let go and trust the outcome”.

What sets me apart as a business, executive, and wellness coach. is my commitment to the **whole person**—not just their goals, but their mindset, their challenges, and their deepest aspirations. **Transformation starts with trust**, and that’s where I begin. I listen. I ask the powerful coaching questions that uncover what truly drives a person, what excites them, and where they need the most support. From there, I tailor the tools, stories, insights and action plans that will empower them **right where they are in their journey**.

Every individual deserves a champion—someone who believes in them, challenges them, and helps them turn their dreams into reality. I am honored to be that person. After each session, I ask my clients to reflect: *What did you learn? What will you implement before our next meeting?* I ask them to commit to their growth, and together, we track their progress—**driving accountability and performance** every step of the way.

I lead with **heart**—as a humble, trusted resource, as an engaged innovator, and as an adaptable influencer. I strive to be a results-driven coach and a transparent storyteller, bringing clarity and encouragement to every conversation. With these pillars of **heart-centered leadership**, I help people not just reach their own potential, but **become the kind of leaders who inspire transformation in others**. And **that** is how I will make an impact transforming the world—**one person at a time**.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
If you want to make a difference in the world, start by recognizing the power of **your own journey**. Every challenge you’ve faced, every lesson you’ve learned—it all carries the potential to inspire and uplift others. The key is to **identify what drives you**, what skills place you in your **zone of genius**, and what **value you can share** with those around you. Look for the gaps—whether in an industry, a business, a team, or even within an individual—and ask yourself: *How can I lean in and make a difference?*

Once you find that purpose, **seek out those who have walked the path before you**—mentors, guides, visionaries who can help shape your growth. But perhaps the greatest challenge is strengthening your **mental gym**—training your mind to break through the doubts and limiting beliefs that hold you back from taking action.

And here’s the truth: *You don’t have to do it alone.* Find someone who **leads with love**, someone you trust to share both your **progress and obstacles**. Someone who won’t just cheer you on but will **link arms with you and push you past your barriers**. If you don’t have that person in your corner, know this—I would be honored to walk alongside you. To support your **dreams, goals, and aspirations** and hold you **accountable** to the greatness already within you.

Because when we **commit to our own transformation**, we unlock the ability to transform the world—**one person at a time!
