Today we’d like to introduce you to Trash Kickers.
Hi Trash, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Tyler, our main songwriter, had been sitting on these songs a while. When John and Danny’s old band broke up, he asked them to join. Then he was out at Delilah’s one night and met Stas and bonded over The Replacements. As a parting phrase, Stas said, “If you ever need a lead guitarist, let me know.”
He was at the next rehearsal and then we were at the bar cheersing after.
We all had connections from being in the Chicago scene already so we hit the ground running once the four of us were together.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Let’s just say we’re paving the road while we walk it. But we love each other and we’re carving dumb things into the asphalt as we go.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We play loud rock n roll in Chicago. The songs don’t always sound like the last time we played them. More people show up the next time.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
You make your own luck. You have to get out there and experience the world and connect. We live what we do.
