Daily Inspiration: Meet Stephen Mannina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen Mannina

Hi Stephen, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Stephen Michael Mannina and I’m a father, a husband, content creator and a photographer/videographer. Once upon a time I used to live a very negative and troubled life as most of us do while we’re growing up. I was arrested, multiple times, I was an addict and just overall not a very good person but through my children, my wife and my photography I’ve been able to shed all those negative qualities about me that was weighing me down and would’ve weighed them down as well. I just couldn’t do that to them as they rely on me. I’ve been a father for 16 years, a husband for 2 years and a photographer for about a year now.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been smooth all along the way. I’ve encountered a bunch of hiccups or road blocks since I’ve started this photography journey of mine. I get paid by Meta to post content so I’ve been learning what works best on there through basically trial and error. I’ve had issues with my account being compromised. I’ve had issues with being blocked from using certain features from time to time but it’s just something you gotta figure out how to work around. I have a different kind of personality though so I don’t let little stuff like that diminish my positivity or my goals. I just adapt and figure out what works best n keep on movin.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
So on my Facebook account, I create AI artwork for our amazing sports teams in Detroit. I capture aerial photography and videography of all different types of landscapes, historical markings and buildings, ships, sunsets and sunrises. I always like to include historical information about what I’m shooting and all my posts always have a positive, motivational and inspirational style to them. I think that I’m most proud of my family and their support. We are such a great team together! I couldn’t do anything without having each and every one of them. As far as my work, I’m proud of all my work that I put out there. I don’t have like a single thing that makes me the most proud but I do love making social media style commercials for small businesses and helping them grow and flourish. I also really like to help inspire and motivate others. I’d say that’s what really sets me apart is my mindset and my ability to help inspire and motivate others. I really have this positive mindset that just cannot be shaken. It took me a long time to master this mindset and I love sharing it with others. You really never know who you’re going to motivate or inspire so why not try to motivate and inspire everyone!

How do you define success?
Simply put, just enjoying what you do. If you’re having fun, it doesn’t ever seem like you’re working.
