Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaya Klein

Hi Shaya, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Allie & I became close while working together and quickly out grew our work spaces. We joked around about wanting to have our own salon together, until one day the opportunity of our salon came along. We went to look at the space, had some of our family members join us to see if they could spruce it up in the way we needed, and quickly signed the papers to take over the building. After about a month of renovating, our rooms were finished and ready for us to start work. While working, we continued renovating the rest of the building in hopes that we could provide other beauty professionals a place to call their work home. After just under a year, my Papa had the salon 90% of the way done just how we wanted it. We had some wonderful beauty professionals join us since and they now call our salon their work home as well.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of our biggest challenges so far, I think, was trying to develop a vision in our heads of what “could be” when we began to create our space in an old building. The bones were great and the price was right, but it was not at all set up the way we wanted our ideal salon to look, and that took a lot of brainstorming and creativity. Slowly but surely, we were able to add a touch of “us” here and there to make our business cozy and inviting.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We enhance our clients’ natural beauty and give them confidence to be their best selves, and that’s really the best part of our job. That entails a lot of things, like permanent makeup, hair styling & cutting, massage therapy, eyelash extensions, facials, brow and lash enhancing services, facial/full body waxing services. We’re most proud when we hold up the mirror to a client and can see the happiness on their face when they see the finished product. I think our ability to connect with anyone, young or old, from any background sets us apart. We genuinely care for all of our clients and have formed great relationships with many of them. That really helps them to be comfortable when asking questions and being specific about what they’re looking for. This makes it so easy to work together to achieve their wants and needs!

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
We love building relationships with our clients. We hear about kids and vacations and weddings and job promotions and are always looking forward to the next chapter of each person’s story. One of our clients came in one day with matching shirts for us and we took a picture with her wearing them; stuff like that makes you realize that you’re more than just the person who does their hair or brows or gives them a massage.
