Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Logan.
Hi Samantha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been behind the chair for 14 years. I had a rough start. When I was younger I got deep into a party lifestyle that was slowly killing me. I knew I always wanted better and I wanted to show others in my situation that you CAN grow and be the vision of you that you always dreamed of. It was in my fourth year of sobriety that I got engaged to my now husband. I had the idea for a salon for a long time but was so scared but my husband said, “go for it babe” and that’s exactly what I did. I wanted to create a creative space for others to feel at home. To just relax and have all the laughs. Leaving feeling beautiful and heard.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Anything worth having is never a smooth road. That’s where character is built. There’s so much to always do. You don’t just worry about yourself anymore when you own a business. It’s constant anxiety about everything under the sun and your co workers, I just want the best for them. I’ve learned to balance life and work a lot better these days and to remember to water my personal life just as much as the business. That’s the trick, is just making sure you take time for you as well. The happier you are, the better everything runs.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I had made my name by being a vivid hair color/ color correction specialist. I can turn anything into the most beautiful rainbow or fix the most messed up bleed lines you’ve ever seen. These days though, I have stayed in color but I focus on hair extensions. I’ve been working on my
own line for about two/three years now and it’s been so much fun learning the ins and outs of the hair extension industry. Being able to now give my guests the best quality hair and install makes me the happiest.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
That I couldn’t even braid hair when I started cosmetology school 😆 I was such a Tom boy and originally wanted to be a mechanic growing up but for some reason something pulled me towards beauty.
