Daily Inspiration: Meet Renarldo Conley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Renarldo Conley.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I got my start in the cleaning industry around 2012, shortly after losing my son. That loss pushed me to find a new direction in life, and office cleaning became my first step forward. When the pandemic hit, I used that time to level up: I focused heavily on learning marketing and web design, earned a Google Digital Marketing certification, and built my own website using SEO strategies I developed myself. As I learned how to run and optimize Google Ads, I began generating steady leads—and that growth opened the door for me to transition fully into carpet and upholstery cleaning. Today, I’m here because of resilience, continuous learning, and a commitment to building something solid from the ground up.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. In the beginning, the biggest challenge was dealing with personal grief while trying to build a business from nothing. Losing my son changed my entire outlook on life, and finding the strength to keep moving forward was a battle of its own.

As I shifted into learning marketing and building my online presence, there were plenty of setbacks—late nights trying to understand SEO, testing Google Ads with a limited budget, and making mistakes that taught me more than any course could. There were moments when the phone wasn’t ringing, when leads were slow, and when I questioned whether the work I was putting in would ever pay off.

Transitioning from office cleaning to carpet cleaning came with its own hurdles. I had to learn new techniques, invest in equipment, build trust in a new service area, and create a reputation from scratch. And like any small business, balancing responsibilities, finances, and consistent growth was a constant juggling act.

Despite all of that, every challenge pushed me to level up. The obstacles became the foundation—teaching me resilience, discipline, and the power of believing in long-term vision even when the short-term is rough.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I run a professional carpet and upholstery cleaning company that focuses on delivering high-quality results with a customer-first approach. My work centers on restoring carpets, furniture, and flooring to their best possible condition—whether it’s routine cleaning, heavy soil removal, stain treatment, or deep restorative work. Over the years, I’ve developed a reputation for reliability, transparency, and results that speak for themselves.

I specialize in tough jobs—spaces where stains are set in, high-traffic areas are heavily worn, or other companies have already told the customer “it can’t be cleaned.” Those are the projects where I’m able to demonstrate real skill, patience, and technique, and they’re often the same projects where customers are the most surprised by the transformation.

What I’m most proud of is building this business from the ground up using my own knowledge and drive. I created my own website, learned SEO, built out my marketing system, and grew my customer base without shortcuts. Every job, every review, every returning client reflects the work I put into both the craft and the business strategy behind it.

What sets me apart is the combination of hands-on cleaning expertise and strong digital marketing skills. Most cleaners either know the technical side or the marketing side—I’ve mastered both. That means I not only deliver excellent service in person, but I also understand how to reach people, communicate with them, and build long-term trust online and offline. My work ethic, attention to detail, and the personal pride I take in every job complete the difference you feel when you hire me.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something that tends to surprise people—whether they know me personally or only through my work—is that I’m a huge Dragon Ball Z fan. Most folks see the business owner, the cleaner, the marketer, the person focused on building and growing every day. But behind all that, I’ve always loved DBZ. The characters, the transformations, the perseverance—it all resonated with me long before I ever started a business.

And in a way, that passion connects to my work ethic. DBZ is all about growth, leveling up, pushing past limits, and turning adversity into strength. That same mindset plays a big role in how I operate my business and approach challenges. It’s a fun piece of who I am that most people wouldn’t expect, but it’s a big part of what fuels me.
