Today we’d like to introduce you to Mia Davis.
Hi Mia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a self-taught makeup artist; I learned most of the skills that I have today through trial and error. My love for makeup started young like a lot of females just wanting to play in the glitter and sparkles to see the results. But due to my youth, my mom was always firmly against it. It wasn’t until I reached a certain age in high school when she finally gave in. And unknowingly that was the beginning of History for Mia C’s Beauty. Through high school, I managed my schoolwork, did yearbook as an extracurricular, worked a part-time job, and launched one of many businesses… M.C. Collections, actually known as Mia C’s Beauty. In high school when I launched M.C. Collections my business focused on creating top-notch beauty products with convenience such as handmade glosses, Siberian mink lashes, and lash application tools. Luckily for me my hard work in high school has helped me today to continue to create and build more for my business. Years after my graduation and many makeup applications to myself later, I finally started offering makeup services to the public, and I do not think I could have made a better decision. This part of my life now is titled “Expansion” what you can expect from me is to continue to work on myself and my craft. Not only that, but keep an eye out for some new graphic ventures and content from me.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
This journey has been a literal roller coaster for me, slow business, overthinking, hurdles in life, lack of motivation. But nonetheless, I believe that when you really want something in life you are presented with many obstacles to show your dedication and love to what you want. And that is exactly what has and is happening to me, but I will not let any of these troubles I go through keep me down. I don’t care if I fall 25 times, you are going to see Mia Chanelle get right back up 25 times.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently, I am known for doing various styles of makeup glam. I specialize in catering to my client’s requests, meaning giving each particular client my eye for detail and hand for creativeness. With those two major skills I am able to fulfill all my clients’ desired looks no matter if it is a natural glam or a dramatic. What sets me apart from other makeup artists is the experience you get when booking Mia C’s beauty. I don’t looking at my clients as dollar signs; I look at them as an opportunity to give confidence with whatever look they get all while maintaining great customer service. What makes me the most proud is just seeing myself fix the problem that I believe has needed to be solved for a while in the beauty world, and that is making sure to be the beauty tech/ makeup artist that I would book if I wasn’t in my shoes.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I don’t know if luck has played a major factor in my business life. I believe that all the good things that have happened for Mia C’s Beauty were out of pure dedication and hard work. For me I did just about everything for my business, rather it was doing my own mini photo shoots, creating my own business flyers, designing my own website, marketing my business on social media or even passing out my own business cards, I did all of that myself. So personally, for me I don’t give all the credit to luck, I give it to me and my perseverance.
