Daily Inspiration: Meet King Yadee

Today we’d like to introduce you to King Yadee.

Hi King, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I got started in construction as a teen helping my adopted father and uncle on sites. When I graduate high school, I went after my music career and started to travel and learned a lot about business. I came back to Detroit in 2012 and built a studio on 7mile called Flight Club Studio. Seen the impact I had on the youth in the neighborhood I want to do more and become a mentor to trouble youth or the ones without a male role model. In 2018 I decided to get back into construction and wanted to do the same thing I done with my music and studios, so I brought all the abandoned houses on the block I grew up on. Then I started “Th3 Block Development,” a company that train, mentor, and educate the youth in our community while building it back up.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been a blessing. God has his hand in this project, and he been providing me with everything we need. From volunteers to financing and even positive press that shine a light on a dark neighborhood is all God.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am King Yadee music artist, fashion producer, and licensed builder.

I build. People. Music. Houses. and Businesses.

I’m known mostly for building my community, Th3 Stash House, and taking Th3 Village with me. I put up my own time, money, and resources to make a huge change in my neighborhood by purchasing 6 abandoned houses. Within two years, we renovated 4 of the homes and place families in need in them at a affordable price. I started business and help opened up stores, restaurants, and a culture shop with my family and friends. And most importantly, I mentor the youth and peers while giving them all I have.

What I’m most proud of is being an awesome father and uncle.

What set me apart is my purpose from God.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love that we are a black city. One of the biggest black-owned city in America. What I hate most is the lack of information and resources in our communities.

Pricing:

  • $250 for full renovation estimate
  • $150 for small project estimate
