Daily Inspiration: Meet Kacey Holmstead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kacey Holmstead.

Hi Kacey , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Casual:
It was baptism by fire. I started as an assistant for 15 hours a week, then moved into public event manager, then sales manager selling spaces for the whole venue. It was a wild surprise I didn’t see coming, and I wasn’t sure I was ready. But I went ten toes down and made it work. I’ve been in sales my whole life, just not at this scale. Selling the spaces that keep the building afloat is stressful and high stakes. I’m commission only, so my nose is to the ground and I’m focused on work all the time. And I honestly love it. It keeps me on my toes.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. It’s been stressful, fun, wild, exciting, and sometimes heartbreaking. Some people can’t be pleased. We still show up and do our best. Power outages and other curveballs aren’t in our control. We focus on what we can control.

This job has pushed me to think hard about work–life balance, expectations, and self-care. At the end of the day, all any of us can do is our best. I’ll keep doing that—offering support, guidance, and help for my team.

I’m proud of us. We’re a small crew, but we show up at all hours, handle last-minute surprises, and keep the events going. We’ve built a work family that’s caring and solid. Teamwork makes the dream work.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’ve worn many hats: gym membership sales for years, photographer for a decade (traveling, setting up, and striking shoots), all while in cosmetology school full time, working two jobs, and raising three kids. I also spent five years writing, editing, and self-publishing a book. Sales is in my blood, but my style is simple: connect first, help where needed, and do what’s best for the person. I want the sale, but if we aren’t the right fit, I respect the no. I lead with truth, solutions, peace of mind, and honesty. I don’t show up to force a close—I show up to find the right outcome. The yeses feel like a win; the noes make me better.

Any big plans?
My plans for the future are to keep learning, growing, and honing my craft—with transparency and connection, not dishonesty or manipulation. We’re all humans walking this life together. I want to help people move through a time in their life more easily, with kindness, respect, and truth. I want to write children’s books about mental health. I also want to keep helping people, take a business class, and continue in sales—even if I’m not sure exactly what that looks like yet. I have some irons in the fire. For now, I’ll keep doing what I’m doing and add more.
