Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazmyn Bradford.
Jazmyn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
J.B. The Resource Agency, LLC was founded by myself (Jazmyn Bradford) as I saw the need for executives to receive more support in efficiently achieving their organizational goals.
As a social work professional, I have gained knowledge and a multi-dimensional perspective that allows me to see the bigger picture in any situation. I believe that we must acknowledge one’s values and circumstances as this impacts one’s access and awareness to resources. Based on my own life experiences, I’ve learned that there can be more than one solution to an issue and most change occurs through a powerful network. Therefore, I do my best to seek equitable and justifiable solutions in helping others to reach their greatest potential in the community.
Throughout the first two years of my social work career in the nonprofit sector, I came across many organizations that were not able to sustain a healthy work climate due to burnout being a top challenge starting with the executive teams. This challenge usually resulted in ineffective communication, poor programming outcomes, and limited professional development opportunities for all employees. The organizations were not able to provide quality support to underserved communities due to these internal challenges, which is the core that needed an indirect solution.
Our virtual assistance services provide clients with an opportunity to call on support as needed and have more to serve within the organization. Furthermore, we want to ensure executive teams can sustain an operable organization with a healthy work climate that results in the most effective outcomes for underserved communities.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The greatest challenge has been encouraging executive leaders to trust in the process of virtual assistance. There’s often times that organizations are interested in calling on support but not sure if enough time will be given to their projects or if the virtual setting will limit the teamwork.
In response, I assure clients that we’ll have an opportunity to meet via video conference call on a weekly basis to establish specific tasks, and our team is always available through email, text, or call throughout the week during normal business hours.
Also, we do understand that doing community-based work may require in-person support at times; therefore, we provide in-person support up to three times a year for up to 5 hours per event.
There’s flexibility in how we support our clients and value communication as this is key in achieving successful outcomes for the communities served.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
