Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazlyn Dingfelder.
Hi Jazlyn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up in Georgia, where I discovered my passion for performing at a young age.
That passion led me to earn a BFA in Musical Theatre and build a career as a professional actress, singer, dancer, and voice teacher.
Throughout my career I’ve performed in a variety of productions while continuing to train and develop my craft.
Today, I’m expanding my artistic perspective through international dance training in Israel, seeking new challenges, collaborating with artists from around the world, and continuing to grow as a versatile performer committed to lifelong learning and excellence on stage.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a Jewish artist, the rise in antisemitism over the past few years has added another layer of difficulty. I’ve watched hostility toward Jewish creatives become more visible, even within spaces that have historically been shaped by Jewish artists and storytellers. Rather than stepping away, it’s strengthened my commitment to creating meaningful work, representing my community with pride, and continuing to pursue excellence despite those challenges
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve been fortunate to build a reputation in different regional theatre communities. In Texas, many audiences know me for my portrayal of Parmalee Flynn in TEXAS! the Outdoor Musical, while in Michigan I’m best known for playing Princess Anna in Frozen.
Beyond performing, I’m passionate about developing as a versatile artist through continued training, teaching, and collaboration.
I’m most proud of my ability to connect authentically with audiences, bring emotional honesty to every role, and continually challenge myself with new artistic opportunities: including my current dance training in Israel.
What’s next?
In the future, I hope to return to the South and establish my own LLC dedicated to helping performers build successful careers.
My goal is to create a space where artists can receive high-quality coaching and professional resources, including audition preparation, self-tape coaching, private rehearsals, voice lessons, headshot guidance, and career mentorship.
I also plan to continue performing professionally while creating opportunities that empower the next generation of artists.
My hope is to build a creative community that equips performers with the tools, confidence, and support they need to thrive in the industry.
