Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaiah Owens (IRO).
Hi Isaiah , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started Photography back in 2020 I also graduated college during Covid-19 so after that I knew that I wanted to keep being creative but not put the camera down. I ended up going to an event that was for all people that wanted to learn how to take photos and I attended the event. The event showed me how to take photos, lighting and also pose my clients. December 2020 going to into 2021 was when I started officially taking photos. I was very well known for putting events together such as model workshops. I was showing aspiring models how to model and also run there instagram pages so they can get there work out there correctly and get booked for modeling gigs and fashions shows. After doing events I started getting a lot of bookings and my instagram page started growing and I started growing with bigger ideas of what I wanted to shoot.
Today I am a well known photographer in the metro Detroit Area. I work with one of the biggest clients such as Detroit Darr and other big influencers . I also work with a big artist known as Artdogg from Ann Arbor Michigan that is on and popping.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not always been easy at all. I have had a lot of moments of wanting to give up taking photos because I just felt like I wasn’t where I wanted to be. One thing that I have realized in the last 30 days is that in order for me to see the vision clear from God, was I had separate myself from a lot of people. In the last 30 days my bookings have gone up drastically and also I have big opportunities for more commercial shoots. Some of the struggles that I ave dealt with not believing in myself, my work isn’t going to get me in different places. I can name more but a lot of what I dealt with was all in my head and just not fully focused on myself and my craft.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professional Photographer/ Creative Director. I specialize in taking photos for major Content Creators such as Detroit and other big names. I also work with Artist and I also do shoots for brands to help them get their brand out there and get more sales. I am most proud of my shoots with the one and only Detroit Darr. The reason that I say that is because I had been a big fan of his content for awhile and now me and him are awesome friends and also create fire content.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I really love this question because I was just thinking of what success means to me. The best way that I would define success is by waking up doing what you love and what God has called you to do. If you can wake up and pursue your dreams and just do what you love everyday I believe that is success and that all make you happy. That is the best way that I can describe Success.
