Hi Gilles , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From a very young age, I was already passionate about creating, sharing and community building. I remember growing up, my older cousins, my friends, my aunts, etc would come to me for advice on everything from life and motivation to style and beauty. I’ve embraced that role throughout my life, and today I get to share my insights with the world – or rather, my community. It’s been a year since I took digital entrepreneurship seriously, and I’m thrilled to be growing and inspiring a community of women. My goal is to help them embrace their true selves and create a meaningful life that reflects their values and passions.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
First and foremost, creating content has been extremely enjoyable and rewarding. However, struggle is an inevitable part of the process, and I have definitely encountered some challenges. As a black woman from Cameroon (Central Africa), living in the United States, I’ve had to navigate significant cultural and social adjustments since relocating here eight ago. To create content that resonates with American women, I’ve had to adapt my approach. I believe we often focus on what sets us apart rather than embracing our shared experiences. I like to remind the women in my circle, “We are here now,” and that’s what matters most. Let’s connect, learn from each other, and uplift one another. One of my biggest challenges has been finding my voice and wondering whether I should tailor my content to African or American women. Over time, I’ve learned to embrace both cultures and blend my approach in a way that resonates with women from all backgrounds. While the list of struggles is long, I choose to focus on my goals and strive to achieve them.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I define myself as a digital entrepreneur, although many people refer to me as an influencer or content creator. My specialty lies in content creation, including videos, photos, and writing. Through my creative work, I share my passion and inspiration for fashion, beauty, and most importantly, encourage women to love and accept themselves.
The underlying message behind my content is one of resilience and resistance. I firmly believe that loving yourself and daring to design your own life is the most rewarding journey I’ve ever taken, and I want more women to know that they are capable of achieving that too.
I urge women to create and design a life of leisure, prioritizing self-care and self-confidence. Why focus on women? In my opinion, when women in the community thrive, everyone benefits. Women are natural nurturers, and they deserve more support.
I spread this message through various forms of content, including beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and motivational posts. What sets me apart from others? Our uniqueness is our greatest strength. For me, it’s my cultural duality that serves as a distinguishing factor.
As a community enthusiast, I recently founded a community called “We Are Now Connect,” which invites women from diverse cultural, social, and professional backgrounds to come together, network, share, create, and learn. By doing so, we support local businesses and create authentic exposure to help boost them. This is what I’m most proud of.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Joy, intentionality, and resilience matter! When you live intentionally, you harvest joy. You pursue your dreams, uplift and impact those around you, and make a meaningful difference. In the face of challenges, your resilience helps you navigate through.
Designing a life of joy has been my mission for the past few years. It’s easy to get caught up in our trauma and become miserable, but I choose intentionality every day. I take deliberate actions to live the life I desire, investing in myself, my dreams, and my passions. I also take pride in nurturing my relationships with family, friends, and community.
