Daily Inspiration: Meet Geralyn Salas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Geralyn Salas. 

Hi Geralyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Since I was a young child, I always collected rocks. As I got older, I started to learn more about the “pretty rocks” or crystals. I also have inherited my mother’s love of jewelry, and at about the age of 23, I started exploring beads of all sorts and began stringing my own jewelry. Soon I was selling at craft shows and various events. Fast forward to my late 20s and early 30s, I started adding “Evil Eye” beads into all of my pieces in memory of my dear friend Sükran, who introduced me to these protective talismans. As I began to learn more about the healing properties of crystals, my jewelry styles evolved and my interests in sharing them evolved as well. I went on my own healing journey and became a Reiki Master and began infusing all of my pieces with Reiki energy. 

In 2020, the pandemic catapulted me into Facebook/Instagram sales, and I began doing more shows as things opened up. In the summer of 2022, I followed my biggest dream and left the dental field I had been in for over 30 years and am now doing various art shows and markets full time. I’m also practicing Reiki full-time as well. 

My pieces include jewelry, crystal abundance pots, and other various home decor and can be found in 6 stores in Northwest Indiana. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I really haven’t had any major obstacles starting my businesses. I was my own biggest obstacle, letting fear get in my way. Once I truly honored my heart’s desire and my soul’s work, everything just flowed together for me♡

My business is Just Geralyn Jewelry and Reiki Services. I make one-of-a-kind, unique crystal jewelry and all sorts of unique home decor including Crystal Abundance pots, geodes, and crystals adorned w air plants, and much more! I am also a Reiki Master; therefore, I infuse all of my pieces with Reiki energy! That is what sets me apart from other makers/artists. I have been told by those who purchase my pieces that they can actually “feel” the energy coming from my work. I have the same response when people shop my booth. It’s important to realize that Reiki is an ancient energy healing modality and once the item is infused, the yummy healing energy never goes away, even if the crystals are recharged. They are a constant source of love and light. 

What do you think about happiness?
It’s the little things in life that make me happy. The moon, the sunrise and sunsets, clear starry nights and a fresh dusting of snow, and the change of seasons. I am a nature lover, and all that mother nature provides puts a smile on my face. Puppies, kitties, and babies are included! 

Why? Because they just fill my heart with joy. ♡
