Daily Inspiration: Meet Francesca and Rachel Aiello

Today we’d like to introduce you to Francesca and Rachel Aiello. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Dream Beauty was founded by Rachel in 2017. She was at the time working a corporate 9-5 that wasn’t fulfilling, and knew she had more purpose! She found a local lash extension course and decided to sign up to start her own journey in entrepreneurship! Shortly after perfecting her craft, she starting teaching certification classes in addition to just everyday work! Once the business became so busy, she left her 9-5 to solely be an entrepreneur. Shortly after, Rachel trained her sister Francesca, who was at the time going to school at Central Michigan University, and her career in the lash industry took off! With constant clientele, she made sometimes as close to $1000 from her apartment with clients back-to-back. After Fran graduated, we both were given the opportunity to open our own salon space in 2022, which is now The Dream Beauty Bar! With Fran’s artistic abilities and passion for design, we were able to make our vision a reality with her free-hand painting! She spent most of the summer making the salon exactly what we wanted. We currently have 3 lash artists, a microblading specialist, and a hairstylist with high hopes of filling the rest of the spaces very soon! 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We have learned a lot about owning and operating a business. Luckily, we have a family of entrepreneurs and whenever we have a question, we are able to call our dad for help. There is a glamorous side to owning a business and not so glamorous side. Learning to balance the two is what we have been focusing on the past 2 years. The beauty industry is ever-changing, and we are always learning and trying to stay up to date with the new and upcoming trends. Overall, it has been a very smooth road for us. We are blessed to be able to go to work and love what we are doing. We have amazing clients and support system that we are forever grateful for. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Rachel specializes in dramatic volume sets, while Francesca specializes in natural wispy sets. The balance of both keeps our salon versatile and has helped us build our desired clientele. If you are not familiar with lash extensions, it is a service that extends the length of the natural eyelash by using a synthetic strand of hair that is curled to give a natural or dramatic look. Being a lash artist is a rewarding job for us. Every day, we get to make our clients feel even more beautiful by enhancing their natural beauty.

We love the sense of community and support we are given. There are a lot of opportunities here; you just have to find what you’re interested in or something you’re good at and do it.
