Daily Inspiration: Meet Eli Wilson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eli Wilson.

Hi Eli, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m an 18-year-old artist from Berrien Springs Michigan. When growing up, you could find 6-year-old me sitting next to the radio flipping through channels and listening to everything that I possibly could. When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would say “A Superstar”. It wasn’t until late into my junior year of high school that I started making music. It all started when my friends and I were bored and tried to make a song for fun. I realized I really enjoyed doing this and continued with the best partner in all of Berrien Springs. Felipe Navia! I would record a track and then send it to Felipe to edit the vocals. 6 months into making music we realized we were starting to make actual good music. I started posting on TikTok regularly and gained the attention of many different people. In my senior year of high school, I realized music was my passion and what I wanted to do with my life. Just recently I signed a record deal with a great company and I’m excited to see what comes next in my journey.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest obstacle I’ve faced is probably criticism. A lot of people will try to put you down and say your dreams are too hard or unrealistic. But the most important part of being successful in anything is a mindset. So, no matter what happens I try to keep a positive mindset and work through everything.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I make music. My goal with my music is for people to relate to it and the words I’m singing.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see myself making still music in 5-10 years. The goal is to have a strong fan base and networking so I’ll be able to do what I love as my job. But regardless if I’m making music for millions of people or just a few thousand I’m not gonna stop.
