Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddie Leww.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I mean, where do I even begin I started DJing around 2011 with a group called vice team the versatile image we used to throw events all over Metro Detroit area starting with 18 and up and then we evolved into doing all 21 up parties and clubs. I remember we had one party and we had a DJ who wasn’t bad but I just felt like I could do better and from that moment on I literally just put in my head that I wanted to start DJing and be a DJ and I started doing all of our parties that we would throw. That turned into me getting booked for clubs all around southeast Michigan from Ann Arbor all the way to Birmingham and even got me to become a tour DJ with a artist by the name of Willie J Peso, and we’ve went on several nationwide tours all over America with various major artist, then I would say around 2019 maybe 2020 I moved to California and was living in LA for a while and within about three or four months living there. I had a residency at a hookah bar in Dearborn before I moved out there and maybe around a couple months to be living in LA. They really wanted me to come back so I worked out a deal with them where you know they handle everything that I needed to be handled and I will fly back every weekend so for about four or five months, I was flying back from Detroit to Michigan every Friday through Sunday or maybe through Monday and then I will fly back to LA and live my life but after those months, I just realized it’s just a lot going on and don’t get me wrong. I was DJing at clubs in LA while I was living there when I had a spare time I wasn’t flying to Detroit, but it just made more sense to move back to Detroit for the moment and continue the journey here and since then I started a clothing brand called the lewwsers for which I’m most known for by my hats with my hand, making the L sign on the front of it. Yeah a lot of people don’t know that’s my actual hand.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wouldn’t say I’ve had major struggles, but I definitely won’t say that it’s been a smooth ride. You know everything has its ups and downs and trials and tribulations, but every bump in the road I’ve definitely learned a lesson from every time and would implement it into my life moving forward so I would say, and this is for any one any field always make sure terms and agreements are set with whatever you do always get it in writing and at the end of the day overall just remain true to yourself and who you are and or who you want to become
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a open format club/tour DJ for 15+ years and a clothing brand owner, but I would say my love for music is what I’m most known for even though if you know me, you know my brand as well. I will definitely say I’m just most proud of taking any idea that comes to my mind that I am sincere and passionate about and actually bringing it to real life even if it’s something that lingers in my brain for five minutes I’ll bring it to life if I don’t like it then I’ll leave it where it’s at and I would say what sets me apart from others is my universal musical mind. I listen to all types of music from deep house to wrap to Indie music, etc.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was everywhere I was just on the move. I was definitely the class clown. The bad kid, I was always into something never anything like illegal. I was just always out causing a ruckus just having fun with my friends skateboarding going on random adventures exploring abandon building stuff like that. There’s a lot of random stuff. I was always doing something or into something. And what’s actually funny is I used to be very shy, but I always loved being the center of attention not in a “I have to be the main character type of way” but I’ll definitely make my presence known. I don’t mind being the butt of the joke and being able to laugh.
