Daily Inspiration: Meet Chrissy Thomas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrissy Thomas.

Hi Chrissy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in Detroit, where music was everywhere- at home, church, school, and even among my friends. As a kid, I’d listen to the radio and wonder how songs were built and what made people feel connected to them like they did for me.

A defining moment came when I was eight. Sitting in a studio while my mom sang background vocals for a local artist. I remember watching the engineer work the boards and asking him endless questions about every button and sound. At the end of the session the artist paid the singers and my mom and I left but I still had so many questions. That day, I realized music wasn’t just a hobby for me– it was what I wanted to do.

From then on, I was determined to learn everything I could. I started playing piano, studied music in college, and eventually grew into creating my own sound and building a space where creativity, community and business meet. Now, I produce music for artists, groups, and sync licensing, and I also work in artist development for singers and lyricists. My goal is to help creatives understand that success takes discipline, consistency, and a commitment to not just being good—but being great at what you do.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey as a creative definitely hasn’t been easy. Balancing the business side with pure creativity is always a challenge—especially in a world that’s constantly changing with new technology and trends. What keeps me grounded is staying connected to why I started in the first place and remembering that purpose fuels the art. Having a community and mentors has also been essential. As creatives, we don’t always have access to the tools, resources or support systems we need, so building those connections has helped me stay consistent, keep learning, and keep growing.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a music producer, songwriter, manager, and artist development coach. I help artists bring their ideas to life and guide them toward realizing their full potential. I’m proud of my journey—every step, every lesson, and every moment I’ve had the chance to see an artist grow and thrive. What sets me apart is that I’m on my own path. I trust my process, honor my vision, and bring a sound and perspective that’s completely mine. For me, authenticity is everything—both in my work and in the artists I mentor. That’s what makes the creative process meaningful and impactful.

How do you think about happiness?
Creating and helping others grow through music. There’s something powerful about taking an idea that starts as a simple thought or melody and turning it into something real that moves people. I find joy in seeing artists discover their voice and build confidence in their craft. It reminds me why I started—to inspire, connect, and use music as a way to bring people together.
