Daily Inspiration: Meet Charena Gantz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charena Gantz

Hi Charena, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi there! My name is Charena Gantz. I am a 26 year old entrepreneur from Detroit, MI. I have always had a knack for arts & crafts! In 2020 I had a business under the name “The Catch Couture” & since I was selling online or out of my truck my apartment was my work space & I wanted to create a nice backdrop to use for my photos of new arrivals. I created a flower wall & my personal followers fell in love with it so I created the page “Creations By Charena”. After the flower wall I began to make artificial rose bear figurines, unfortunately that didn’t last long nor was it profitable for me but I never deleted my page! Fast forward to February 2024, a very good friend of mine from 6th grade recommended me to one of her friends for a flower bouquet (although I had never made one before) she’s been my friend for a long time & she’s knows not only that I’m creative but I’m going to do my best. I made a bouquet with one dozen of roses, glitter, pictures & a letter stick for the name of the person the bouquet was for… after I posted this same story & picture of flowers onto both my personal & creative page it blew up! I was booked & busy for the next week. I’ve been in this business for 8 months now, this is my 3rd business & it has been the most fun, the most lucrative & probably one of the best experiences in my life as an entrepreneur! I can not wait to see what God has in store for Creations By Charena.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I usually don’t say this but so far, yes! Running a business is NOT easy especially while you’re doing it yourself. I am working hard everyday to work out any kinks & learning from mistakes with timing. The only struggles I’ve had so far is for holidays! I am extremely busy for graduation, Mother’s Day & other holidays. It can become a bit much for me because I do make everything myself, but when it’s busy I also have to deliver all these orders so that can be frustrating at times.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am truly the Jack of all Trades. I can recreate or bring to life just about anything! I make flowers bouquets, money bouquets, diaper bouquets, baskets, props for photo shoots & so much more!

I would say I specialize in creativity, there is no limit to the things I’m willing to try.

I am most known for being myself! I share my personality a lot through social media.

I am most proud of all my accomplishments. Although I don’t do the work anymore, I am also a certified medical assistant & a phlebotomist. I am proud of the fact that no matter what I go through in life I have the strength to continue to push myself to be the best person every single day! The hard work will pay off:)

What sets me apart from others is my mindset & my heart. I think differently than others. I don’t mind getting my hands dirty, I don’t mind working 3 jobs 7 days a week to get where I want to be in life, material things do not matter to me I’d rather invest my money. I have a kind, patient heart. There are many people in business who aren’t polite, who aren’t patient & the customer service is just terrible. At 17 years old first week after graduating high school I was promoted to Assistant Manager at Happy’s Pizza, that’s because of who I am… my mindset & my heart.

Stay small enough, long enough… you’ll never big enough soon enough!

What are your plans for the future?
Right now I’m working 100% on Creations By Charena. Silence is key, so I won’t say too much but we’re hoping 2025 to announce something amazing! Stay tuned.
