Today we’d like to introduce you to Cammi Fazal.
Hi Cammi, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi! I’m Cammi, photographer and owner of Noelle Photography. I’ve been a photographer for about 8 years, and I have been shooting weddings for four. I never planned on becoming a photographer. It started as a hobby, and over time, I absolutely fell in love with it. I got a camera when I was 16 and would practice by going on walks and taking photos of nature and whoever I was with. I spent countless hours watching videos and messing around with settings to see what worked for me. I found photographers and creators on Instagram that I felt were pushing outside the limits and rules of photography at that time. The styles of editing and the levels of creativity were so unique, and it seemed like they had created something so niche to them. Their work was inspiring and so beautiful. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me want to create something different.
I started booking sessions with seniors and families. By word of mouth, I began growing a little business. It really was just supposed to be a side hustle as I was finishing up high school and starting college. But then a friend asked me to photograph her wedding, and that changed everything for me. I wanted to shoot more weddings and work with more couples, so I started posting model calls on social media and having friends model for me. It allowed me to get as creative as I wanted, and it started attracting clients that were drawn to my style.
This little hobby of mine turned into a full-time job that now provides for me and my family. I am forever grateful to those that invested their time for me and to those that have trusted me with some of the most intimate and special of their lives.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have definitely learned a lot over the years, and I am still learning and growing! Over the past couple years, more and more people have gotten into photography, and the field has gotten a little more concentrated. It can be so easy to get frustrated by this and play the comparison game, but it’s super important for me to stay true to the brand I have established and the mission I want to accomplish. This community has given me the opportunity to glean from other creatives and collaborate/partner with some really talented people. I have made some incredible connections with vendors, clients, and other photographers. It’s been a lot of hard work, but I am grateful for the way it has shaped me and this business. I’m so excited for this next season and everyone that I’ll get to work with.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Noelle Photo is primarily known for wedding photography, but I also work with more than just couples. As my couples grow and start families, it is my heart to follow them along that journey and help document those special memories. Nothing brings me more joy than when my past clients continue to come back for all of their big life moments. It’s not about business at this point; I get to do life with these clients who have now become friends. I honestly have the coolest job! I am proud of this business I have created (which wouldn’t be possible without all the wonderful people who took a chance on me in the beginning). I always want excellence for my clients. I want my clients to know how much I appreciate them and that I will work my hardest during and long after our shoot to make sure they have the best experience. I want to provide them with photographs specific to them, showcasing real-life, intimate, raw, and beautiful moments.
I would describe my style as a bit earthy, editorial, and timeless. I feel inspired by texture, color, and landscapes. I want my photos to feel romantic and warm. When someone looks through their gallery, I want them to feel like they are reliving those moments all over again.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Whether you’re getting married, starting a family, or you just want this new season of your life documented… I would love to celebrate you! You deserve beautiful photographs of the memories and moments that are sacred and special to you.
