Daily Inspiration: Meet Bradley Robinson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bradley Robinson.

Hi Bradley, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Bradley, I’m a 33yr old veteran of the United States Army with an extensive background in art. I started tattooing in 2011, but it was only off and on due to military obligations. As I progressed in my art career, I had worked several different jobs and decided to take the leap into tattooing full-time again. By this time, I had landed my dream job working next to one of idols, Scott LaMadline, owner of Libertalia. Which forced me to step up my game and keep digging further into my career. Through the course of my tattooing journey, I have worked alongside many great individuals and companies and landed a few amazing sponsorships with companies such as Saniderm aftercare and Discover Device. After many years, my wife and I decided to open our shop here in Otsego Michigan. Our shop is a true reflection of breaking stereotypes and stigmas of tattooing as we strive to provide the best experience from initial contact to the healing process. 9/8 Tattoo Collective is our way to provide a thanks to the individual who helped lay the steps I’ve had throughout my career. The name comes from nine pieces of eight. Which is pirate lore of appeasing the pirate lords to gain safe harbor at Libertalia, which was my dream come true a few years ago. We are truly blessed to have the love and support of our community and family, to include our out-of-state clients as well.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been super tough, but we’ve faced our challenges as we continue to grow. It’s more of a balance of trial and error because we learn from our errors. A current struggle that we’ve encountered is definitely outgrowing our space. We started as a private studio for myself and then have taken on some incredible individuals along the way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Personally, I try to stay as diverse as possible with my capabilities and skill set. I do a lot of color work and black and gray work from small to large. I feel that I’m known for my ability to adapt and communicate effectively and efficiently with my clients and I take pride in what I do. My family is incredibly supportive and they tell me all the time that my dedication to my work reflects just how passionate I am and honestly, that is what sets me apart from others is that I am incredibly passionate about the health and well-being of my clients. I love educating clients and other artists as well. It’s important to me that individuals seeking tattoo experiences are educated on what to look for, what to watch out for, and everything in between, to ensure a safe and great experience. “Even if it’s not by me. ”

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Provided I have the availability, booking with me is quite simple. You can go on our site and click my name, pick a date/time and that’s it. From there we’ll contact you and go over design details and such. I only book 3 months at a time, so unfortunately it may be difficult to accommodate, but I always try my best.
