Today we’d like to introduce you to BeaJai Ramsey.
Hi BeaJai, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hey ! My name is Bea and I’m the founder and owner of Beajjai Photography.
We’re a photography company based in Detroit, Michigan. I’ve been shooting for 10 plus years, along with my late partner Eboni Parker aka singer 3xotic. We specialized in High fashion photography, product photography and content creation. When we first started as a company we photographed Children, Weddings, events, and etc.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road wasn’t even as smooth as it is now lol. We started with one camera, three studio lights and we used fabric from the fabric store as a backgrounds. Personally, it was a whole new world for me, and I had a lot to learn over the years. But with the amazing clients we serviced, we quickly became a house hold name for the locals in the city. Now with just me running the business alone, I took a break for mental health reasons. I’ve had a slow start with returning to shooting and I’m happy that I have the same awesome clients ready to book. The equipment is better lol ! we have more cameras and high tech gear to produce amazing photoshoots.
The biggest struggle of them all is healing and while still remaining an artist.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
The focus of Beajjai Photography has been geared more towards Product Photography.
I love how the daily products we use or foods we eat are showcased! Bright colors and catchy songs has been a huge stable in product photography and even marketing overall.
You either want to buy the products or even try them out for a review.
Since this is the era of content creation and everyone’s getting a piece of the action.
I still appreciate a good creative or high fashion photoshoot but marketing/product photography has my heart.
What sets us apart from everyone else is our drive, we created some of the most coolest photoshoots in the beginning stages of business. With little to no experience in set design just pure imagination. We physically made our props for our clients and turned their visions into reality.
I’m just proud of Beajjai photography in general it’s my baby !
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Some will define success by the material things they may possess.
But I define success as elevation, becoming better and better.
By doing what you love without worrying about failure.
But even if you just so happen to fail or fall short on your journey, at least you already been through the tough areas. That alone can help you navigate a little more efficiently.
And to me success is always willing to push yourself because, there’s bigger goals to complete with new levels to be reached.
