Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Ewing.
Andrea, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Ariss’ Piecez was created when I had my 1st child, a girl. I love dressing my daughter in tutus, bows, and ruffles. We would get compliments all the time, and gèt asked “Where you get her outfits.” This sparked my interest into opening my own boutique. I knew that other moms would enjoy my sense of fashion for their little girls. Ariss’ Piecez was born, named after my daughter. Since our launch in 2019, we have been committed to “Bringing fashion to the playgrounds.” Every little girl should enjoy what they’re wearing all the time regardless if they’re at school or on the playground.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some of the struggles of running a business is the knowledge. You don’t know everything when starting off which causes growth; mistakes will happen. When I first started, I knew little about business credit, how to build, etc. Funding a business out of pocket, on top of your own personal finances, is tough. Not having the financial stability you need to take your business to the next level been my biggest struggle.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work for a credit union processing chargebacks and disputes. My background is originally in the health field. I obtain my associates in health administration we’re I worked in hospital and urgent care settings. Life is unexpected, nothing is the same forever. With that being said, I ended up in finance making good money, and I haven’t looked back. I plan on finishing a degree in business.
What matters most to you? Why?
Besides my family, what matters to me the most is that I stay consistent with my business. It’s so easy to “get behind,” lose motivation or simply just stop. A lot of business owners revamp, start over, etc. It doesn’t matter how many times, long as I never lose my drive or passion. I started this boutique once I became a mother, so I want my daughter to know never give up and always go for w/e her heart desires. In the same breath, I don’t want to be so involved it’s taking everything away from me, including my time with my family and simply being the best mother to my daughter.
