Daily Inspiration: Meet Alisha Taylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisha Taylor.

Alisha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started this journey back in 2014 as a way to get senior pictures as I was graduating from high school. After months of studying, learning, and playing with my camera I fell in love with the art. I soon after began capturing close friends and family and even did my 1st wedding! After that I slowly built up my dream business over the last 12 years where I now photograph 100’s of amazing humans and around 20+ weddings a year.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road; I love to tell people that I was not FAST to get here. It took me over 12 years to get where I am at today, and there is still sooo much I want to accomplish.
Some of the struggles for me was living in such a Rual small town, it’s hard to grow when there is only a tiny population. So I had to learn to grow and market myself to all over Michigan and beyond to be able to make this possible. I also struggled, (like most photographers) with not feeling like I was “good enough” and compared myself to other photographers. I found that after years of doing this, there is room for everyone, and your clients will like you, because of your editing style and personality. You are not made for EVERYONE. You will find your kind of clients, and love it!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in lifestyle photography and weddings. I do a mix of families. newborns, couples and more along with capturing 20+ weddings per year. I strive to be your photographer for both the significant milestones and the everyday moments of life. My approach blends candid, authentic moments with carefully posed shots to provide you with a well-rounded collection of images that tell a unique, emotional story. My editing style is cinematic, intimate, and true-to-color tones that bring out the warmth, mood, and story of each wedding day.
When you ask about my approach to photography, the answer is simple: I am committed to capturing and preserving emotional, lasting memories that you and your loved ones can cherish forever.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I am a huge believer in community over competition and love working with fellow photographers, business owners and more. You can reach out to me via social media, or email me at alishakayphoto@gmail.com. You can find me on most social media platforms under Alisha Kay Photography.
