My journey as DJ Sphin6x began in 2009 with a passion for music and the ability to create unforgettable experiences through sound. What started as a love for DJing quickly evolved into a career that has allowed me to perform throughout Michigan, Atlanta, and even internationally, entertaining diverse audiences and adapting to different cultures and music styles.
One of the most rewarding chapters of my career was working with a DJ entertainment company in Atlanta, where I played a key role in helping the company grow into one of the top-rated DJ companies in the state, reaching the #2 spot through exceptional client experiences and consistent performances. Throughout my career, I’ve also had the opportunity to serve as a resident DJ for clubs, bars, lounges, and special event venues, learning how to read a crowd and create the right energy for every occasion.
Beyond the music, I’ve always approached DJing as both an art and a business. I founded DJ Sphin6x under Mines Industries, LLC, with the vision of building a brand known for professionalism, versatility, and unforgettable experiences. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate event, nightlife venue, private celebration, or international event, my goal is always the same—to create moments people remember long after the music stops.
After more than 15 years in the industry, I’m still passionate about evolving, expanding my brand, and exploring new opportunities. I believe the best DJs never stop learning, and I’m excited for what’s next as I continue connecting people through music, culture, and unforgettable experiences.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many DJs, I started from humble beginnings, investing my own time, money, and energy into learning the craft, building my music library, and creating opportunities for myself. Breaking into the industry wasn’t easy, and earning trust and recognition took years of consistency, networking, and proving myself one event at a time.
Along the way, I faced challenges such as building a client base, competing in a crowded industry, adapting to different crowds and musical trends, and learning the business side of entertainment. There were moments when I questioned whether the long hours and sacrifices would pay off, but those experiences ultimately made me stronger.
Through practice, perseverance, and hard work, DJing has helped me grow not only as an entertainer but also as a person. It has strengthened my communication skills, boosted my confidence, and taught me how to connect with people from all walks of life. Every challenge has reinforced my commitment to taking my craft seriously and continually improving.
Looking back, I’m grateful for every obstacle because each one helped shape the DJ and entrepreneur I am today. Those experiences taught me that success isn’t built overnight—it’s earned through dedication, resilience, and a genuine passion for what you do.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in creating unforgettable experiences through music. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve had the opportunity to perform at weddings, corporate events, nightlife venues, bars, lounges, private celebrations, and international events. My approach is simple—every event is different, so every set should be different. I take pride in reading the crowd, understanding the energy in the room, and creating an experience that feels authentic to the people I’m performing for.
One of my greatest strengths is my versatility. I’m comfortable mixing Hip-Hop, R&B, House, Top 40, Afrobeats, Latin music, Caribbean, and other culturally diverse genres. Performing in different cities, venues, and for audiences from various backgrounds has taught me how to connect with people through music, regardless of age or culture. Whether it’s a packed nightclub, an elegant wedding reception, a corporate event, or an international audience, I know how to build the right atmosphere and keep the energy flowing.
I’m especially proud of the journey that has taken me from humble beginnings to performing throughout Michigan, Atlanta, and internationally. Along the way, I helped a DJ entertainment company in Atlanta grow into the #2-ranked DJ company in the state while also earning opportunities to become a resident DJ for clubs, bars, and entertainment venues.
What truly sets me apart is that I don’t see myself as someone who simply plays music—I see myself as someone who creates experiences. I believe preparation, professionalism, and understanding the client’s vision are just as important as technical skill. Every event deserves its own soundtrack, and my goal is to create moments that people remember long after the last song ends.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Adaptability is the quality I value most. Every audience is different, and I’ve built my career by learning how to connect with people through music, regardless of the venue, culture, or occasion. Combined with consistency, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous improvement, it’s allowed me to build lasting relationships and create memorable experiences wherever I perform.
