Conversations with Tiffany Green

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Green.

Hi Tiffany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Growing up I wanted to be a Flight Attendant and see the world. Went to the Airline Academy in Daytona Beach, FL. After graduation, I decided to stay in Michigan and started a family instead. I started to explore the world with my Best Friend Amy. After people noticed my trips, they started to reach out for help with booking their own travels. That’s when I decided to become a Travel advisor. I knew I didn’t want to work for anyone and wanted to have my own company. So, I started my research and some training. After a year, I went live and started to book my 1st client. What started out as a hobby turned into a full-time job.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I started my business about a year and a half before Covid. I was a struggle at 1st getting clients because travel agents weren’t really a thing because of Expedia and Booking.com. But after about 6 months I was booking clients, started with family and friends. Then Covid hit and shut the Entire travel industry down. Most travel agencies had to close their doors. I, on the other hand, was able to keep at it because it wasn’t my full-time job. My full-time job was healthcare. It was a rough 2 yrs.… booking, canceling, and rebooking clients. Once travel opened back up. I’ve been full-time booking clients all over the U.S. because they didn’t want to deal with long hold times for canceled trips or keep up with the everlasting travel restrictions.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I call myself a Travel Advisor instead of travel agent. Travel Advisor is someone that’s been to the locations and seen firsthand. I’ve been to about 25 counties. Been to Mexico about 7 times. I’m known for my All-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and European trips. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and learned in just 4 years. Started out with just myself and now I have two other Travel Advisors that work for me. Amy and Michelle.

What set us apart is the fact the 3 of us travel to locations no clients think of. Like The Arctic Circle in Lapland in Finland. Auschwitz in Poland, and in Nov, Amy and I are going to Antarctica.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
