Today we’d like to introduce you to Story CommunityGarden.
Hi Story, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey has been rooted in community, leadership, and creating spaces where people can grow. I started by building experience in operations, event planning, and management, where I learned how to organize systems, lead teams, and bring ideas to life. Over the years, I developed a passion for wellness, community engagement, and helping others access opportunities that improve their quality of life.
That passion led me to create and support projects centered around empowerment, including community garden initiatives, educational programming, and events that connect people to resources and each other. Through those experiences, I’ve learned how to balance vision with execution—turning ideas into real outcomes.
Today, I’m continuing to grow as a leader and entrepreneur, using my background in management, operations, and community building to create meaningful impact while inspiring others to do the same.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a completely smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape me. Like many entrepreneurs and community leaders, I’ve had to navigate limited resources, funding barriers, and the challenge of building something meaningful while wearing many hats at once. There were times when I had to figure things out on my own, stay consistent without immediate results, and keep moving forward even when things felt uncertain.
I’ve also learned that building community-based work requires patience, trust, and resilience. Not everyone will immediately understand your vision, so I had to stay grounded and committed to the bigger picture. Those struggles taught me problem-solving, adaptability, and how to lead with purpose.
Looking back, the road wasn’t always easy, but the obstacles helped prepare me for the level of growth and impact I’m stepping into now
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work centers around community development, wellness, and creating opportunities that help people thrive. I specialize in turning ideas into impactful projects—whether that’s building community-based initiatives, organizing events, developing partnerships, or creating spaces that bring people together. I’m especially passionate about food access, urban agriculture, and teaching others how to grow and sustain resources for themselves.
I’m known for being a visionary who can also execute. I don’t just talk about ideas—I build systems, create experiences, and move projects forward. I’m also known for connecting with people from all walks of life and bringing strong energy, leadership, and authenticity into every space I enter.
What I’m most proud of is creating initiatives that have the potential to leave a lasting impact, especially through community gardening, education, and empowerment. Seeing people inspired, learning new skills, or benefiting from something I helped create is what means the most to me.
What sets me apart is that I blend creativity, strategy, and heart. I understand business, leadership, and operations, but I also deeply care about people and purpose. That combination allows me to build things that are not only successful, but meaningful.
Any big plans?
My plans for the future with Story Community Garden are centered around growth, sustainability, and deeper community impact. I’m looking forward to expanding the garden into a stronger hub for food access, education, and wellness where families, youth, and neighbors can come together to learn and heal.
Some of the big goals include increasing fresh produce production through innovative growing methods like hydroponics, creating more hands-on workshops that teach gardening and self-sufficiency, and building partnerships that help bring resources directly into the community. I also plan to grow Story Community Garden as a social enterprise, creating opportunities that can generate income while continuing to serve the neighborhood.
I’m especially excited about developing programs for youth leadership, environmental education, and healthy living so the next generation can see agriculture and community building as powerful tools for change. The future is about scaling the vision while staying rooted in service.
