Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophie DiLoreto.
Hi Sophie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From watching my favorite YouTubers in middle school to building my own community of like-minded people, my journey has been fueled by a passion for wellness, self-care, and a desire to inspire others to live their best lives. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to be a content creator. I saw how YouTubers could connect with their audiences, share their lives, and make a real impact – and I couldn’t help but think, ‘I want to do that too.’
However, for years, I struggled with two main obstacles: time and knowledge. While I was certain that I could do it, I didn’t have the time while balancing school and other commitments. I also didn’t know exactly how to start, being a teen with limited resources and experience. On top of that, I was hesitant about what people in my life and at school would think of me – how they’d perceive me stepping into this new space. Despite all of this, the idea of creating content never left my mind. Every time I watched a new YouTube video or saw creators doing what they loved, I couldn’t help but feel a deep pull to finally take action.
In 2023, after graduating from college and finding myself with more time, I decided to take the leap. I knew I had to start then, or I might never do it. So, I launched my YouTube channel, diving into topics that I’ve always been passionate about – wellness, personal growth, beauty, and living intentionally.
After posting YouTube videos for a year and surpassing 100k subscribers in 2024, I realized that I wanted to dive even deeper into the topics I was passionate about. While YouTube allowed me to connect with my audience, I felt there was so much more to explore – especially when it came to helping my viewers navigate real-life challenges. This is why I decided to start my podcast, Glow & Tell. It’s a space where I can address deeper issues, share personal insights, and offer more in-depth advice, all while continuing to build a community that supports each other’s growth
Since launching Glow & Tell, my community has continued to grow and evolve, and I’m so grateful for the connections I’ve made with people who resonate with my message. What started as a personal passion has become a mission to help others romanticize their lives, live in the present, and fearlessly pursue their dreams. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see how my content is making a positive impact, and I’m inspired every day by the stories and feedback I receive from my audience.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue expanding my content and creating even more meaningful conversations, whether through YouTube, my podcast, or other exciting projects.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Every journey comes with its share of adversity, and content creation has been no different, but I’ve come to realize that the struggles along the way make the accomplishments that much more rewarding. When I first started, my biggest challenges were the logistics – learning how to edit, upload videos consistently, and build a community. As I got more comfortable with those aspects, new obstacles emerged. As my community grew, so did the occasional negative comment or hate, which, at first, was difficult to handle. It’s a strange experience when you’re suddenly subjected to the opinions of thousands of people, and the criticism can feel personal. While I’ve learned to accept that negativity comes with the territory of putting yourself out there, it wasn’t easy in the beginning.
One of the biggest struggles I face now is maintaining a work-life balance. Unlike a 9-to-5 job where you can ‘clock out,’ my work is always there. The harder I work, the faster I see growth and results – something that can feel both rewarding and overwhelming. It’s taken me a while to recognize that this constant hustle isn’t sustainable if I want to maintain my mental health, my relationships, and my quality of life. I spent many days in front of my computer from morning to night, struggling to meet deadlines while trying to stay present in my personal life. Over time, I realized that while hard work is important, it’s equally important to create boundaries and set aside time to recharge.
In this journey, I’ve learned that success is not just about pushing myself to the limit. It’s about creating a balance, knowing when to step back, and recognizing that my well-being is key to long-term success. I’ve started making more time for self-care, prioritizing my relationships, and finding a rhythm that allows me to work hard without burning out.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My content is all about presence and intention, and I try to show that living intentionally and following your dreams is possible – even if your life feels pretty normal or unglamorous. I love helping people romanticize their everyday lives, find joy in the small moments, and feel inspired to follow their dreams.
I’m most proud of the community I’ve built – it means so much to know that my videos and podcast episodes genuinely inspire and resonate with others. I’ve had the honor of working with brands I used to dream about, and I’ve even received the YouTube silver plaque, which felt so surreal. At the end of the day, what means the most to me is knowing that my content helps people feel more connected to themselves and excited about their lives.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I’m a big believer in the power of books to spark new ideas and perspectives. I draw a lot of inspiration and knowledge from them. Some of my absolute favorites include The Creative Act by Rick Rubin, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy, Atomic Habits by James Clear, Don’t Believe Everything You Think by Joseph Nguyen, The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest, Becoming Supernatural by Dr. Joe Dispenza, You Are the Placebo by Dr. Joe Dispenza, and The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. Each of these has had a huge impact on my mindset and how I approach life, work, and personal growth. These help me stay grounded, motivated, and focused on creating a life I’m excited about, and I often draw inspiration from these books to fuel my content.
