Today we’d like to introduce you to PCF Scuba.
Hi PCF, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For me, music was my first love. Growing up, I remember all my cousins and uncles rapping at my granddad’s crib — that’s what pushed my love for it even further and made me want to try making music myself. I started off doing little battle raps and disses at school, and when I saw people rocking with it, I started recording on BandLab from the bathroom for years until I realized my potential. Once I finally got in the studio with Rxdeboy, everything just clicked.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing that will help you win in life will ever come from a smooth road. I grinded for years — wanted to give up, lost hope, and almost completely gave up on the dream. But I had a team around me that saw the vision when I didn’t, and they helped me push through every single day.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m one of the hottest underground rappers out of Detroit. I like to call myself one of the city’s ‘hidden gems.’ I specialize in giving a voice to the streets from all different perspectives. I’ve been through so much in my life that I can relate to a lot of different street niggas and give them a voice — even without knowing them personally.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Nothing in my life has ever been about luck. Everything takes time, work, and patience. Rapping wasn’t something I planned — it’s something that found me. I’m just a nigga from the hood who found his way out and keeps grinding toward success every single day.
