Conversations with Paige Moreau

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Paige Moreau.

Paige Moreau

Hi Paige, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Throughout my adolescence, I was intrigued by watching my grandpa as a builder and often shadowed his work.

From there, my passion for design developed at an early age and grew as I got older. My interest in furniture placement, material selections, and other aspects of design turned into me re-arranging décor in my parent’s home. I later furthered my education by acquiring a bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from Baker College. After college, I chose to focus on the kitchen and bath industry as I love the process of space planning,

Finishing selections and watching a space transform. I lucked out with finding a home at Straight Line Design; I started working as a receptionist while finishing design school and quickly moved up to full-time Designer. I am fortunate to say I get to work with the best in the industry and have learned so much from my co-workers, who have molded me into the designer I am today.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Overall it has been a smooth road with a few bumps in the road. No project goes perfectly, and you have to be able to adapt to situations quickly and come up with a solution.

I find that as long as you have a solution and are quick to execute issues, everyone will be happy.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe you can tell us more about your work next?
I am a kitchen and bath designer specializing in whole-home projects and remodels.

Although I love a great new build, remodels hold a special place in my heart. I love taking a space that does not function well for a family and re-arranging it, knocking out walls, moving stairways, and putting it back together as a completely new space.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love everything about the lakeshore, but being close to Lake Michigan is a favorite, especially in the summer. Walking down to the beach after work allows me to find some peace and relaxation in my day.
