Today we’d like to introduce you to Mercedes Salas.
Hi Mercedes, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my photography business when my son was born in May 2019. Absolutely loved making themed sets… After months of friends and family asking if I can take their photos as well. I took the big leap.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would definitely say I have been blessed with a smooth(ish) road. There have been a few bumps as any new business goes threw.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I would say that I’m specialize in photographing family, wedding, portraits, and boudoir.
I’m extremely proud in my boudoir work in particular. But I also am extremely proud of my work with fellow autistic families and getting their picture dreams come true. As a mom with an autistic son myself, I know how tricky photographing them can be,
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I am not a natural risk-taker, but over the years, I have developed the confidence to take risks when it matters. When it comes to professional decisions, I have taken a significant amount of calculated risks that have paid off.
